John Howard James Kramer, age 83, passed away on July 7, 2026. He was born on June 14, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio, and was a lifelong resident of Miamisburg. John graduated from Miamisburg High School. He will be remembered for his generosity and taking care of his family and friends.
John was a car guy through and through. Not only did he work in the automotive industry, but he bought, rebuilt, and restored cars throughout his life. In retirement he took up woodworking, cabinetry, and furniture making. He liked grilling out, was an avid bike rider, and enjoyed staying active.
A devoted man, John was deeply committed to his family and to being present for their activities. He was a proud grandfather, and his steady support and attention to those he loved formed a lasting legacy that will remain with his family for years to come.
John is survived by his children, Mike (Sandy) Kramer and Kellie (Spencer) Blanton; grandchildren, Reagan (Gavin) and Jack (Roberta); and siblings, Robert (Marie) Kramer and Kathleen (Jerry Johnson) Hoefler. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Alene Kramer; parents, Walter and Martha (Herbert) Kramer; and his brother, Richard (Bette) Kramer.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
