

Age 91, a 58-year resident of Miamisburg, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at his home of natural causes following a short illness and surrounded by his loving family with care provided by Hospice of Dayton. Joyce was born March 11, 1924 in Tell City, IN to the late William D. and Pauline Marie (Kleeman) Dauby. In addition to his parents, Joyce was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Ruth Marie (Blatteau) Dauby in 1978 and his daughter, Paula Marie Bell in 1988 as well as siblings, Charles, Mary Ann and Martha. Joyce was a graduate of St. Paul’s Catholic School and Tell City High School. He attended Indiana University for 2 ½ years and University of Dayton night and day classes. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Our Lady of Good Hope Church since 1950, Miamisburg Helping Hands for 19 ½ years and a Kiwanis’s Man of the Year in 1979. Joyce also served as Scout Master in Tell City, IN and chairman and committee member of Boy Scout Troop 275 of Miamisburg. He was a Citizen of Educational Freedom in 1964, served on the Bicentennial Horizons Planning Committee from 1974 – 1976, Council of Citizen of Transportation Coordination Committee of Greene and Montgomery Counties from 1980 – 1983, an active advocate for Right to Life 1981-1990, a member of the Our Lady of Good Hope Bereavement Committee and their Legion of Mary for 19 years. Joyce retired from Monsanto Research Corp. in 1982 after 35 years of dedicated service. He specifically worked in the polonium, plutonium and tritium area. Joyce will be remembered by his surviving family including children, Jo Ann Bowles of Oregonia, Anthony Dauby, Angela Madlinger, William Dauby and Rachael Dauby, all of Miamisburg and Patricia Dauby-Goff of Moraine; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg with a community prayer service at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg and celebrated by Father Tom Nevels. Following cremation, Joyce will be rested in Our Lady of Good Hope Cemetery.
