Laura W. Bamesberger

Age 93 of Miamisburg, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Elmcroft of Washington Township. She was born on June 23, 1920 in Perham, MN to the late Walter and Ida (Kloninger) Ruff. Also preceding her in death is beloved husband of 51 years, Gordon Bamesberger; brothers, Lawrence Ruff and Otto (Helen) Ruff. She is survived by children, Neal (Donna) Bamesberger of Denver, CO, Joan (Bob) Stierwalt of St. Louis, MO, and Dale (Vicky) Bamesberger of Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) Quante & Jordan (Liz) Bamesberger of Denver, CO, Leah (Steve) Quinn of Washington, DC, Chad (Greta) Stierwalt & Liberty (Michael) Thompson of St. Louis, Adam Bamesberger of Denver, CO, Todd (Kristin) Bamesberger of Loveland, OH, Seth (Emily) Bamesberger of Austin, TX; great grandchildren, Flicity and Felix Stierwalt of St. Louis, MO, Evelyn Quinn of Washington DC, Jack Bamesberger of Austin, TX; sister-in-law, Ordella Ruff of Grand Island, NE; best friend of the last 12 years, Joyce Zimpfer of Miamisburg, OH and many other extended family and friends. Laura graduated from Walther Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, IL in 1942 and went on to work as a RN with the U.S Army. During WWII Laura was stationed at Percy Jones General Hospital in Battle Creek, MI where she achieved First Lieutenant status. Laura has been a long time member of American Legion Post # 346 in Cherokee Village, AR where she served as the chaplain for their post. She also has been a long time member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church, 410 E. Pease Ave., West Carrollton, OH 45449 with Pastors Dean Haferman and Chuck Beckett officiating. Laura will be laid to rest at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Arkansas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church, in memory of Laura.
