LaVerne H. Darling

LaVerne H. Darling, age 88, longtime resident of Miamisburg and recently of Carlisle, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Otterbein Middletown SeniorLife Neighborhood. LaVerne was born on August 19, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Martha Ethel and William McKinley Hardin. She enjoyed a 32 year career with Huntington Bank as head bank teller. LaVerne loved fishing, horse racing, and travelling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stan Darling; former husband, John Pottinger; and siblings, Elsie Hardin, Virgil Hardin, Mary Alexander, and Don Hardin.

LaVerne is survived by her son, John (Sharon) Pottinger II; grandchildren, John (Angie) Pottinger III and Brandi (Janet) Pottinger; great-grandchildren, John IV, Lainey, Kylee, Charlie, Jesse, Zack, and Shelby; special niece, Peggy Johnson; special friends, Aja, Nancy, Carolyn, Charlotte, Joannie, and many more; special hospice nurse, Michelle, who became like family; as well as several nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

A celebration of LaVerne's life will be held in the summer.
