Lawrence William Watson, age 81, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at Kingston of Miamisburg after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born October 11, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, Lawrence lived a life marked by steady devotion to family, faithful service, and the quiet strength of a man who showed his love through presence, commitment, and time well spent. He was a longtime resident of Miamisburg, Ohio.
Lawrence was a graduate of Vandergrift High School in Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor’s degree in business from the College of Steubenville in 1966. He retired from General Motors in 1996 after 30 years of service, a career that reflected his reliability and dedication. A devout Catholic, Lawrence attended Our Lady of Good Hope Church in Miamisburg, where his faith remained a constant foundation throughout his life.
In his leisure, Lawrence found genuine enjoyment in playing sports—especially softball, bowling, and golf—and he looked forward to his annual fishing trips with close friends and family. Yet above all, his pride and joy were his grandchildren. In retirement, he especially cherished the quality time he shared with them, valuing those moments with a grateful heart and a deep sense of purpose.
Lawrence is survived by his daughters, Tina (Anthony) Tollett and Amy (Charles) Hamm; grandchildren, Dylan Bailey, Ethan, Jeremy and Regan Hamm; siblings, David (Janet) Watson, Joy Pierce, Gerald (Linda) Watson, Jan (Diana) Watson, and Timothy Watson; longtime partner, Dianne Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, McDonald and Virginia (Reinhart) Watson; his son, Scott Andrew Watson; his brother-in-law, Michael Pierce; his niece, Jill Watson Michels; and his nephew, Kevin Watson.
