I’ve known the Eagle’s my whole life and l always considered Lee as a great friend. I was the Eagle’s letter carrier back in the 60’s & 70’s and at one time rented the old railroad depot that Lee’s family owned where my brother, Dad & l started an antique & furniture refinishing business . That started a journey of myself becoming an auctioneer and one of the greatest compliments Lee bestowed to me was having my family conduct his family’s antique car and farm auction! Lee always donated Ohio State University memorabilia to the annual Rotary Club charity auction and he would smile like a little kid as someone in the audience would become the new owner of his prized OSU collection! He loved local history and l so enjoyed his stories especially about his father & grandfather who lived at the same farm, one of the oldest in the township, plus the pride he shared about his children! My heart goes out to John, Mark , Linda & Wife Jean- please accept my condolences.

Lee will be remembered as my dentist, my grandparents neighbor and the father of my brother’s friend, Mark. I use to babysit the kids. His son and daughter-in-law, John and Debby, fostered the dog I adopted. Have known him most of my life.........a friendly person. Our lives have been intertwined for years.

We feel blessed to have purchased Lee's Bear lake home. Although we only met Lee at the transition of ownership, we could see the sparkle in his eyes and feel his love for the place he built. At the precise moment we took the keys from Jean and Lee, and eagle soared directly above. We took this as a good omen, a "God wink." and named the home Eagles Landing in tribute.
Our sympathies to Lee's family and many friends. I've enjoyed reading your memories of Lee. May he ski many slopes and fish many waters in heaven.

So many memories of Lee and his family! Where would I even begin. School, Church, Work, Vacation at Bear Lake Michigan. My husband Gary & he worked on the antique cars, went fishing in Canada and played cards over the years. So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you John, Mark and Linda. We had some good times and memories.
