

She was born on August 6, 1932, in Miamisburg, Ohio, the daughter of Shirley and Candus (Spivey) Lipps. Marianna was a 1950 graduate of Miamisburg High School. She worked as the long-time secretary for the Miamisburg Parks and Recreation Department until her retirement in 1994. Marianna was very active with the Bluegrass community. Her late husband, Eugene, was a member of the Dixie Ryders Band. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was always a loving presence for her children and grandchildren. Marianna will be remembered as the matriarch of her family. Her advice was always wise and welcomed. She was loving and supportive of all her children and grandchildren, and an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. She is survived by her children, Gail (Dale) Craker, Kim (Paula) Hedgebeth, and Ron (Laura) Sparks; grandchildren, Bonnie (Jacup) Sibert, Andrew (Catherine) Craker, Kimberly (Matt) Brown, Diana (Matt) Gast, Julia (Chris) Cieslak, Jane Sparks (Graham Solmos), Carolyn Sparks, Simon Sparks; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Dan (Betty, deceased) Lipps and Norman (Millie) Lipps; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marianna was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings, Beatrice, Dale, Jean, Mark, Paul, Naomi, and Pauline; husbands, Holmes Hedgebeth, Odell Sparks, and Eugene Bowlin; daughter-in-law, Julie Leyes Sparks; and her stepson, Dalton (Pam) Sparks. A graveside service will be held at 12 PM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg. The family would like to thank Walnut Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and support.
