Age 71, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2015 at the Dayton VA Hospice. Born June 14, 1943 in Greenwood, Mississippi to Harold and Rosie Carlisle, he was the youngest of two children. Mike is survived by sons: Bradley, wife Danielle of Springboro; Timothy, wife Anne of Carlisle; 3 grandchildren: Jacob, Zachary, and Megan; and his sister Patricia (Carlisle) King of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sheridan Kaye Carlisle; his mother, Rosie Carlisle; and father, Harold Carlisle. Mike grew up in Joplin, Missouri where he was a member of the Cam Twisters car club as a teen. He spoke fondly of cruising the streets of Joplin in his lowered '56 Ford Fairlane with Kaye by his side. A year after graduating from Joplin High School in 1961, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1963, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Sheridan Kaye Ray. Mike worked for NCR, and he and Kaye were transferred to the Dayton area from Kansas City, MO. Mike had a long, successful career at NCR in Dayton and he retired in 2000 after 37 years. They lived in West Carrollton and Miamisburg for over 40 years. Mike enjoyed traveling with Kaye to Sanibel Island, Florida every year, riding their tandem bike together, and most of all, spending time with his family. Loving father and husband, he will be greatly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton VA Hospice C/O Hospice Unit NH2 Victory Ridge, 4100 West Third St. Dayton, Ohio 45428 or Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45420, in memory of Mike.
