

KNOTT, Paul M. age 89 of Miamisburg, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Kingston of Miamisburg under the care of Hospice of Dayton. Paul was born August 6, 1924 in Brown’s Valley, KY to the late Proctor and Mary (Thompson) Knott. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gladys (Stewart) Knott and siblings, Charles Knott, Marilyn Cabalier, Angela Knott (infant) and Mary Louise Knott. He is survived by his children, Rick (Shirley) Knott of Troy, Helen (Rick) Dalton of Miamisburg, Rod (Jenny) Knott of Miamisburg, Rebecca (Donald) Hobbs of West Carrollton, Linda Knott of Miamisburg and Doug (Vicki) Knott of Pemberville; siblings, Martin (Louise) Knott of Owensboro, KY, Alma (J. Richard) Gaw of Owensboro, KY, Walter (Margaret) Knott of Owensboro, Rosina Libs of Newburg, IN, Dottie (Larry) Elder of Sorgho, Kathleen (Mike) Boldrick of Santa Maria, CA and Roberta Knott of Owensboro; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as well as many other extended family and friends. Paul was a WWII veteran having served as a corporal during WWII. He mastered his skills as an operating engineer for the Local #18 which served him well for a career of 68 years. Paul loved to travel, camp and watch the Reds. He was also Catholic by faith and a member of the Our Lady of Good Hope parish. He was a member of the American Legion Post #165, the Miamisburg Senior Center and a founding member of the Knights of Columbus. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 PM Monday, May 12, 2014@ Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Miamisburg. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg with military honors.
