Philip Louis "Louie" Arnett

Arnett, Philip Louis “Louie” age 89 of Miamisburg passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1928 in Dayton to the late Louis and Alice (Volk) Arnett. In addition to his parents, Louie was preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Galloway and Katherine Younce and brothers-in-law, Vincent Galloway, Charles Younce and Mack Poore. Louie was survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia Ann Arnett, and by his sons, Rick (Angie) Arnett of Miamisburg and Robert (Lucy) Arnett of Anna. Survivors include sister Evelyn Poore; grandchildren, Erin (Justin) Criswell of Miamisburg, Ryan (Ali) Arnett of North Carolina, Scott Matthew Arnett of Tennessee, Scott K. Frisby of England and Sarah J. Frisby of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Kyndal and Oaklee; cherished friends, Dale Smith, Mick Rittenhouse and Mike and Sandy Tuttle and a family dog, Rigby. Louie graduated from McKinley High School in Dayton. He worked at NCR for 27 years as machinist and then went on to work almost 20 more years at General Motors, retiring at age 62. Louie had also honorably served for the United States Marine Corps during Korean War. He was a long-time member of Miamisburg Christian Church and the American Legion Post 165. Louie was a sports enthusiast and coached baseball teams including Youth and American Legion. He also enjoyed bowling, trap shooting, hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and frequent trips to Michigan and Canada with his friends. Family will receive friends during a memorial gathering from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Miamisburg Christian Church followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm also at the church. The service will be officiated by Pastor Mike Tuttle. Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg will serve as Louie’s final resting place.
