Robert John VandenBoom, age 89, longtime resident of Michigan and recently of Miamisburg, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, February 16, 2026. He was born on May 19, 1936, in Little Chute, WI to the late Philomena and Martin VandenBoom. Bob’s greatest joys were his family, faith, and friends. He enjoyed winters in Florida, traveling, golfing, and cheering on his favorite Michigan teams. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was a fun-loving man with a great sense of humor and was always ready with a song.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his 8 siblings, Liddy, Dutch, Whitey, Clem, Joyce, Mary, Dave, Diane; and waiting to welcome him in Heaven is his beloved great-grandson, Augustine “Gus” VandenBoom.
Bob is survived by his cherished wife of 67 years, Patricia VandenBoom; 7 children, Rick (Kathy) VandenBoom; Linda (Dan) Diemunsch, Bev (Dan) O’Neill, Lori (John) Porter, Bob (Tina) VandenBoom, Ron (Amy) VandenBoom, Kim (Jim) Earl; 15 grandchildren, Rick (Corey), Jim (Elisa), Melissa (Chad), Jon, Jenny (John), Sean (Bridget), Ryan (Jill), Melanie, Collin, John, Hannah, Jessica (Brandon), Ashley, Allen, Nate; 15 great-grandchildren, Zeke, Murphy, Harvey, Theo, Teddy, Dom, Alex, Ben, Jack, Frank, Jay, Jonas, Juliet, Miles, Sylvia; 3 siblings, Gerry, Paul, Chris.

A gathering of loved ones and friends will be from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday, February 21, 2026, at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, 508 E. Linden Ave. Miamisburg, OH 45342. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, 6 S. Third St. Miamisburg, OH 45342.
