

ROGERS, Roderick Glenn “Rod”, age 50 of Miamisburg, OH and formerly of Columbus, GA, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his residence. Rod was born February 18, 1964 in Columbus, GA to Christine (Chester) Rogers of Columbus and Charles A. Wright of Atlanta. Rod was preceded in death by his father, John W. Rogers in 2002. In addition to his parents, Rod is survived by his wife of 12 years, Julie Dube; his daughter, Shannon Amy Rogers of Spain; siblings, Ulrick Rogers of Florida, Degas Wright, Derryl Wright and Tonya Harris and her son, Christopher Wright all of Georgia, and his faithful four-legged friend, Pepper as well as many other extended family and friends. Rod was a graduate of Kendrick High School in Columbus, GA and attained his Bachelor Degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University while serving for the United Stated Air Force. He served 23 honorable years as an aircraft armament systems craftsman having attained a Bronze Star and becoming a Master Sergeant. Rod loved woodworking and computer technology and enjoyed serving as a volunteer for Hospice of Dayton. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Kimbrough Funeral Home, Columbus. Funeral services will begin 11:AM Friday, June 27, 2014 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Alabama with military honors.
