Roland Burnett Bailey

BAILEY, Roland B. age 79 of Miamisburg passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 at his residence. Roland was born September 12, 1931 in Miamisburg to the late Burnett and Elizabeth I. (Boyer) Bailey. In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by his sisters; Catherine and Clyde Homan and Helen and George Tyson as well as his brother, James and Helen Bailey. Roland is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane Ann Bailey of Miamisburg; nephews, James (Judy) Bailey of Florida, William (Ann) Bailey of California, Gene Stupp of New York and Dale Stupp of Georgia; nieces, Donna Booth of Georgia, Rhonda (Mike) Ishmael of Kettering and Heather (Tate) Atkinson of Miamisburg; brother-in-law, Dale (Sue) Beal of Miamisburg and many other close friends and extended family. Roland was a 1949 graduate of Miamisburg High School and served as a Corporal for the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then became employed with DP&L retiring as a machinist and welding supervisor after 43 years. Roland enjoyed many activities including, golf, tennis, billiards and especially travelling with his wife. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge, all of Miamisburg. Family will receive friends, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 5:00-7:00PM and Thursday, May 12 from 10:00-11:00AM at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will begin 11:00 AM Thursday following visitation and officiated by Pastor Deb Holder. Burial will take place at Hillgrove Cemetery Miamisburg.
