Ruby Katherine Issacs Harrison

HARRISON, Ruby Katherine, age 95 of Miamisburg, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Kingston of Miamisburg. She was born February 19, 1919 in McKee, KY to the late William and Carlista (Gabbard) Issacs. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Hiram Harrison in 1981; her great grandson, Christopher Howard; son-in-law, Don Howard and 8 older siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Shelby “Jean” Howard of Miamisburg; son, Gary (Joyce) Harrison of Atlanta; grandchildren, Dean Howard of Miamisburg, Lane (Lisa) Harrison and Shelly (Ed) Hosier all of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Cory and Brooke Howard both of Miamisburg, Alex and Abby Harrison and Emily Fields and Harrison Hosier all of Atlanta as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ruby was a homemaker who dedicated the majority of her life to her family as a wife and mother. She was a devout Christian with a long-standing membership at the First Baptist Church of Miamisburg. She was a natural nurturer as she enjoyed gardening with her husband and assisting in her church with childcare and youth ministries. Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, April 4, 2014 at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 AM at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg which will also serve as her final resting place. The Family would like to thank the Staff of Kingston of Miamisburg and Optum Hospice for the excellent tender-loving care they provided their Mother.
