Sallee Jane Morris

Morris, Sallee Jane, 74, with her sister-in-law Janet by her side, died Monday, February 27 at the Kingston of Miamisburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hampton Grant and Edna (LaMar) Morris and her brother, Carl Grant Morris. Born June 28, 1937, Sallee lived her entire life in the Dayton area. An alumnus of Miamisburg High School, she went on to the Dayton School of Practical Nursing where she became a licensed practical nurse. She eventually received an associate’s degree from Miami University and advanced to a registered nurse. Through her work as a medical professional, Sallee devoted her life to caring for the sick and elderly. After her health deteriorated significantly in 2007, she entered the Kingston where her gentle manner and acute sense of humor endeared her to the staff. Surviving Sallee are her niece Amy Sue (Geoffry) Steiner; nephews Eric Grant (Tammy) Morris and Michael Grant Morris; great niece Hannah Morris and great nephew Nicholas Grant Steiner; sister-in-law Janet Morris; aunt Joyce Louise Rice; former sister-in-law Marianne Hudson Morris; cousin Joette Morris Gates; and dear friend Christine Jung. The family wishes to thank the Kingston staff for their care and compassion during Sallee’s time with them.
