She was born March 7, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio. Shirley was a graduate of Miamisburg High School. She retired from J.C. Penney after 33 years of service. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and reading.
She is survived by her children, Connie Brown (Kenny Knoblock), Vicki (Willie) Schenck, and Scott Astor; daughter-in-law, Lisa Astor; grandchildren, Aaron (Jami) Brown, Kevin Brown, Stacy Knoblock, Kara Moore, Natalie (Chris) Pursifull, Ashley Schenck, Courtney (John) Rupp, Michael Schenck, Stephanie (Tyler) Bowman, and Joshua (Brooke) Astor; 20 great grandchildren, sisters, Betty Roberson and Rita Micklos; sister-in-law, Nancy Brockman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ferd and Ida (Rose) Brockman; husband, Dean Astor; sons, Michael and Kent Astor; brother, William Brockman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM. Burial will take place at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Cemetery, Miamisburg.
