Shirley A. Kennard, 72, of Lebanon, passed away Monday September 24, 2018 in her residence after bravely battling leukemia for fifteen years. She was born February 24, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Goldie (Weidner) Bennett.
Shirley graduated from Miamisburg High School in 1964 and the Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1967. She was a Registered Nurse for forty years at Miami Valley Hospital. She was member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She volunteered at the church bazaar and Middletown Atrium. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening and luncheon with friends.
She is survived by two sons; Todd (Vicki) Kennard of Waynesville; Scott Kennard and Amanda Johnson and four daughters of Clarksville; granddaughters, Laura Ann and Jennefer Lee Kennard; brother, Bob (Darlene) Bennett of Farmersville. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of thirty-nine years, Donald Kennard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday from 4 – 8 pm in the GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday September 29, 2018 with Pastor Joe Getts officiating. Burial will be in Hillgrove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Don Kennard’s memory to Hospice of Dayton.
