

LYNCH, Vernon “Buck”, age 84 of Dayton departed to be with the Lord Sunday, March 15, 2015 from the Oaks of West Kettering under the care of Acclaim Hospice. He was born October 10, 1930 in Miamisburg, OH to the late James and Molly (Dixon) Lynch. In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie Lynch, Dick Lynch, Sam Lynch, Bob Lynch, Luther Lynch, Ida Powell, Margaret Scearce, Minerva Wilson, Callie Carmack and Ruby Johnson. He is survived by his children, Mike Lynch of Eaton, Hope (John Hooper) Byrd of Tennessee and Vernon Lee (Kelly) Lynch of Oregon; grandchildren, Brandon (Shawna) Lynch, Nikki (Gordon) Robbins and Chris (Misty) Byrd and great grandchildren, Madison, Sophia, Raleigh, Dakota and Cadence as well as numerous extended family and friends. Buck was a 1949 graduate of Franklin High School and became an electrician. He was a valued employee of Appleton Paper for over 43 years before he retired. Buck was a former member of Elizabethtown First Church of God and the Moose Lodge #1645. Buck was a proud parent serving as PTO President for the Madison School District, Scout Master for the Cub Scouts and a Youth Baseball coach. He also had served as Assistant Pastor for the Church of God and travelled extensively, circling the globe twice. Buck was blessed to fulfill his retirement dreams and was a devoted family man. He also enjoyed the Reds. Family will receive friends at Gebhart-Schmidt-Parramore Funeral Home, Miamisburg from 11:00 – 1:00 pm Friday, March 20, 2015. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm also at the funeral home. There will be a Wake at the West Carrollton VFW Post # 3438, 5441 Marina Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45449 immediately after the funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America at 1325 West Walnut Hill Lane, Irving Texas 75015-2079.
