She was born July 24, 1925 in Miamisburg, the daughter of John and Mena Graham.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David J. Rammel; sons Douglas and Edward Rammel; brothers, George and Donald Graham; sisters, Maxine Schmidt and Joanne McCollum.
She is survived by her children, Marsha (Danny) Brockman and John Rammel; daughters-in-law Donna and Amy Rammel; 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
As a young girl Virginia was an excellent student with an outgoing personality. She was a cheerleader, a softball player and aspiring actress. She then met the love of her life and like many of her generation she began the life of wife, Mom and homemaker. While raising four children together Gin and Dave enjoyed camping and gardening, vacationing in Minnesota, mushroom hunting in Michigan and the joys of lots of family and friends. And soon her life became even more full as her family continued to grow and grandkids began to arrive. Never at a loss for words, she always let you know what she was thinking, and those were very happy days. But then life threw her a curve and suddenly with Dave’s passing she found herself without her partner. With strength and determination and an independent nature she found a way forward where she devoted herself to taking care of her family and friends, old and new, who were or became a part of her life. Whether by being a caretaker, a babysitter or feeding you her signature fried spaghetti, apple pizza or her famous chocolate chip cookies, she tried to take care of everyone. Even as her days began to wind down and she needed more help of her own, Gin would still try to get you to share a bite to eat with her. That was just her way of reaching out and showing how much she cared.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg.
