

Warren was born June 5, 1940, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, to Helen and Howard Hammon. Warren was a very kind and gentle man with a friendly smile. After graduating from Miamisburg High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force and spent four years in service. He worked at Krug International Association at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and later as a researcher at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base northeast of Dayton.
Warren relocated to DeLand in 2002 and married lifelong friend Janet Raney on November 22, 2003. He was an active member of DeBary Golf and Country Club for 15 years and enjoyed playing golf with his buddies three or four times weekly. Warren served as the state treasurer for the Florida Council for Exceptional Children, as a member of the Southwestern Middle School Advisory Council, and as CEO for JanWar Educational Consultants prior to retirement. While in DeLand, he became a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of DeLand.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Howard Hammon, and his former loving spouse, Phyllis Hapner Hammon. He is survived by his wife, Janet Raney; his beloved sister, Judith Scarborough Dunay (Joe) of Atlanta; his daughter, Tracy Nolan of Seymour, Indiana; stepsons, James Hapner (Nancy) of Orlando, Howard Pelphrey of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Donald Pelphrey and Jan-Marcus Mathew Dutton, both of Deltona; granddaughters, Ryan Heaton of Orlando, Cory Heaton of Clermont, Alicia Black of Winter Springs, Mina Jones of Sanford, Arianna Dutton of Deltona and Shayla Kopsa of DeLand; and grandsons, Charles McMahan Hapner of West Palm Beach, Alexander Pelphrey of DeLeon Springs, and Tom Boyle of Cleveland.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Hillgrove Cemetery, Miamisburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Retreat at Silver Springs, 6455 E. State Road 40, Ocala, Florida 34472.
