Albert Picciano

Albert Picciano passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on June 25, 1947. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee Runt). Loving father of Christina Redella (John) and Maria Kleinschmidt (Karl). Cherished grandfather of Thomas Redella, Sarah Redella, Anthony Picciano, Olivia Kleinschmidt and Madeline Kleinschmidt. Dear brother of Lenore Getner (Andy) and Michael Picciano (Sue).

Albert was the anchor of our family, always there when we needed him. He was a devoted husband, a wise and caring father, and a proud, involved grandfather who made every gathering brighter. Above all, he put family first, leading by example through his constant willingness to help others whenever they needed it.

His grandchildren were his pride and joy and his cherished legacy. He taught them countless things—how to play cards, body surf, fix cars, practice good sportsmanship, and understand that hard work gets you far in life. His math skills were on fire; he proudly called himself “the calculator.”

His love of sports began with hockey and grew into learning about every sport they played. No matter the game, there was always a “Grandpa pick-me-up” lesson afterward, reminding them of the importance of always keeping their head on a swivel.

Albert provided unwavering support to his children throughout their childhoods and well into adulthood. His steady presence and selfless love meant the world to us all. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace with the Lord, and we will honor him by carrying forward the values and lessons he taught us.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Tuesday December 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. The family will receive friends Monday December 29, 225 from 4 – 8 PM at the A.RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 Bagley Road (West of I-71), (440) 260-8800.
