Sadly, I just learned of Art's passing. He was an outstanding teacher and instilled in me (an inner city kid) the belief that I could do something better than quit school and work in a local factory. He taught me how to think and infused a passion for lifelong learning. Art's inscription in my yearbook stated, "Becoming is superior to being..."  Thank you Art, I took those words to heart and it is because of you that I pursued a doctoral degree. Your life of service to your students is an example I have tried to follow with my own doctoral students. Thank you for your time, patience, understanding, and belief in me. Your family has lost a kind, caring, and helpful person, but I hope they know that your legacy lives on...

Just learned of Mr. Fabian's passing through the WTAA. Sincere condolences for his friends and family. He was my homeroom teacher during my senior year at West Tech. Missed out on having him as an English teacher, but had friends who had him and thought very highly of him.

Edward: Bob, Dominic and I just heard this afternoon of Arthur's passing.  I'm so sorry.  I'm also sorry we missed the calling hours and funeral. I wish we could have spent more time together as adults and gotten to know each other more.  I hope you find comfort in all the wonderful memories the two of you shared together. A true humanitarian has left us. Art Fabian was a blessing to have as a neighbor and friend. Our sadness cannot be put into words. It just won't be the same without him and his cherished dogs peacefully strolling past our house every sunny day. God Bless him and those that have been at his side.

Mr Fabian taught me piano at the age of 10 at Musical Arts. He was such a nice guy. That was 48 years ago. my sympathy to the family.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Mr. Fabian.  I am fortunate to have been a student of his at West Tech (class of '67).  My sister and I sat with him at an open house at West Tech many years after we graduated and, upon his learning that I had lost my yearbook, he promptly found one for me!  I will never forget that.  What a gracious and gentle man.

Mr. Fabian was everything an English teacher should be.  He instilled in me a passion and love for reading and taught me how to think and write critically, skills I have carried throughout my life.  My deepest sympathy to his family.

I was taught by Mr.Fabian for 2yrs. at West Tech. He was one of my favorite teachers, a great teacher who was kind and caring. I have seen him a few times through the years and he actually remembered me! My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends. He will be remembered!

Authur was in my graduating class at West High. He was a very warm and decent person and I new that he would do good things in his life. I have often thought of him over the years.

My sympathies to those who were close to Arthur. He and I spent a lot of time together as high school students, regularly doing radio programs and acting in plays at the old West High. We lost touch in the years that followed, but I have always remembered his friendship. I wish we could have reconnected more recently.

How sad to hear this...Mr. Fabian was not only my piano teacher at age 8, but then became my English teacher at West Tech when I was 16.  I have so many good memories of him.  What a smart, talented individual.  Rest in Peace and my condolences to his family.
