

She was born on February 26, 1940, in Corning, New York, the daughter of the late Folsom and Doris (née McGowan) Veazie. She married the love of her life, Jim Pheneger, in 1958, and they built a beautiful life and family over their 66 years together.
Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Pheneger; her son, Dan “The Man” Pheneger; her brother, Dick (Charlotte) Veazie; and her sisters- and brothers-in-law, Shirley, Bill, Pat, Dick, Jack, and Barb.
She is survived by her children: David (Mary), Mark (Debbie), and Amy (Brian); her grandchildren, Rachel Krieg (Andy), Joshua, Taylor and Jaimie; her great-grandchildren, Daxton, Ruthie Mae, and Jack; and her siblings, Don (Paula) Veazie and Bruce (Lynne) Veazie. Aunt, Great Aunt and friend of many.
Barb was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Known for her patience, kindness, generosity, and genuine care. She believed deeply in accepting others for who they were by celebrating our differences and inspiring others to do the same. She treasured her time as a mother and grandma and built a legacy of love for her family. Her dedication to love flowed to her students at North Star Academy, children of her bible studies, and as the leader of bible studies for kids with disabilities. Barb was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Meals on Wheels, and a faithful supporter of St. Jude's Children's hospital. She had many beloved passions: photography, card making, arts & crafts, reading, writing, and poetry.
Barbara is released into the embrace of eternity with Jesus Christ, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Barbara's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
