Borjanka Shipcka, age 71, of Macedonia, Ohio passed away surrounded by family on Friday August 14, 2020. Borjanka “Borka” was born in Durres, Albania of Macedonian descent and had lived in the Greater Cleveland area since 1995. Dearly beloved wife of 48 years to Marko, loving mother of Leo and Hilda, dearest sister of Stojanka, Ilia, Luan and Vangjeli. Dearest aunt to Helena, Elvis, Xhoana, Ina, Ilirjani, Anisa, Kledian, Arjola and Michele. A true, loyal to the core and dear friend to so many people in different continents.

Borka was a teacher of the Russian language since graduating in 1970 from the Universiti Shteteror in Albania and she also spoke four languages. In 1995, together with her family she immigrated to the United States. While she was always a proud Albanian, Borka was a model US Citizen who was proud of the freedoms of the USA and she loved this country so much. Her love of God and the peace she found at Saint E Premte Church guided her thru her quarter century in the States.

Borka had a charismatic personality, an infectious smile, a joyous laughter, and an unconditional love for her family. She was a fountain of energy, so passionate for all she did in life.

Borka loved her life and enjoyed every second of it. She would thank God every day for waking up in the morning. Her biggest pride and joy where her son Leo and daughter Hilda and she beamed with pride of her children’s accomplishments.

Borka enjoyed every second she spent in her garden and she was the queen of flowers together with her vegetable & herbs garden. She LOVED having the most picturesque garden. She loved to travel and will always be remembered for her love of dance. The moment the music played Borka was up dancing.

Borka was her family’s foundation, the rock, the engine, the catalyst of the family’s hard work and of all that the family accomplished.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 18, 2020, from 4-8 pm at Craciun funeral home 14925 E. Bagley Rd. Middleburg Heights. Borka would want you to be safe during these times yet if you could hug your family and friends, share time with those you cherish, and never miss a time to be kind.

Dear Hilda, Leo and Marko, Bob and I are so deeply sorry for your loss, and so sorry she left this earth so quickly. I personally have such wonderful memories of this incredible woman Borka, a wonderful mother, wife, and friends to so many. Borka had so many followers, she was a leader in spirit and always there with a smile and her wisdom. I am going to miss the times I would see her, and she would yell out “My Michelle”, My Michelle, over and over again and hug me so tight. She truly was loved by her family and and by all.
I was always amazed at how majestic her flowers were, her gardening skills were perfection, producing a feast for the family during the winter. She had so much life to give and I will always feel that even though she is not here.
The love this family shared was amazing, peace to you Borka may you rest in heaven and live carefree now. I am truly so heartbroken and sad you are no longer with us. Wishing you eternal peace and thinking of you.

There are no words right now to express just how sad I am to see Borka leave this world. I only had the privilege of knowing and loving her for 5 years, but it truly seemed like a lifetime! She was my second mom, my personal stylist & therapist, my travel buddy, and the absolute best lunch host around. I will truly miss our energetic talks and all the laughs we shared (there were MANY).

My heart goes out to you Hilda, Leo and Marko. The love and admiration she had for you is unmatched. I know I can’t make your pain go away, but I want you to know I’m here with a shoulder or an ear or anything else you need!

Borka, my dear, my wonderful Borka, there was no one like you in my life. You were a force of nature that gave light and life and joy to those around you. The depth of your love and the intensity of emotions, your strength, your warmth, your wisdom, humor, insight and laughter, your cooking and coffee, your caring and the ability to see into other's hearts. You took care of people and you gave support. Around you there was joy and flowers and there were tears and yelling and jokes and amazing meals and hugs and teasing, and there was that feeling of being one of the family and a feeling of being loved. Forever I will think of you as one of the best and craziest friends I ever had and one of the most amazing people with the biggest heart.
Our loss, our Borka, we miss you painfully.

Dear Shipcka family: I am so sorry for the loss. Mama was always nice and kind to me. I enjoyed her hospitality when every time I met her, she also gave me a big hug and shining smile, like my mother. I definitely want to bring flowers to see her, but I believe she owned the most wonderful garden that she took care carefully everyday. It is not the end of story, just staying with god and will all see one day. Love you.

R.I.P Borjanka Shipcka.

Dear Marko,Hilda and Leo!
We wish we had words to lighten your agony, but sometimes words are not enough, especially for a person like your wife , for your mother, for our special dear Borka! We can not believe she is not among us anymore. Her laugh ,her jokes, her warm smiles will be missed. She was so special for our family.
Death leaves heartache no one can heal, but Borka left behind so much love and memories no one can steal.
May you find strength in the love of family and Borka's legacy which lives on in you!

Borka was a wonderful person and an amazing mother. When I visited your home, I truly enjoyed talking to her even though we debated and argued on various topics...it was fun! Regardless, she treated me with respect and always made me feel part of the Shipcka family.

Borka was a special friend of the Gambrel Family. Cali and Ty loved her smile, her hugs and her holiday "Borka Balls". They would smile the entire time we were together and both have great memories of her warm personality and musical accent.

We will always marvel at her amazing green thumb. Everything she touched came alive! And that includes her incredible children Hilda and Leo. She infused them both with a unique and incredible blend of sugar and spice. We feel so lucky for our friendship, especially knowing that it's one that will endure and last for many years.

While we all deeply mourn Borka's passing, we are so grateful for the great memories and wonderful family she leaves behind!
We love you!
