I just dreamt about you. In my dream, I was protecting you from the bad things that were happening outside. In reality, I tried to do the same thing. I wish I could have taken your place or took some of the pain for you. I would give anything to have you back here with me. Watching home videos the other day, I cried listening to a little two year old version of you point at me and say "That's sissy." Words could never express the grief I feel losing the one person who knew every single thing about me from the moment we were born. I love you so much sissy. You will always be in my heart and on my mind forever. I hope one day, when kids come along, that I can tell them about their wonderful and courageous aunt who made the world such a happier and brighter place.

  Not a day goes by that we don't think about you.  Watching you grow up from a toddler to a beautiful young lady you never had a bad day and always stayed positive not matter the situation  Your smile was contagious to everyone you met.

Though Carly and I were not close, I shared a bond with Carly that many cannot hold thankfully. Like Carly, I am a fighter against my own body fighting 5 autoimmune diseases. When I was receiving brain treatment, Carly and her mother came to comfort me. She knew exactly how I was feeling and told me to be strong and not to worry. Carly gives me hope that no matter how sick I am I can achieve great things like she did at such a young age. I will never forget that beautiful hopefully, I'm not scared smile Carly always had on. My thoughts are with Carly's family. May angels carry your sadness away.

Carly, an angel on earth. Her beautiful smile and shining personality would light up the room. God wanted her now to shine down on everyone.

I am truly blessed to have known someone as amazing as Carly. Not everyone can say they have a genuine friend that taught them more about life than anyone else. Carly, I'm missing you a lot lately. I have this video of all of us as kids at Anna F's Halloween party. I think it's like 6th grade status. You wore a tshirt that said "This is my costume." So like you. And you started singing "She Bangs" like William Hung. You were a crazy girl. But the nicest of them all. I visited your grave the other day. The snow made all your flowers fall so I stood them back up for you. Your family misses you a lot. I wish you could be here. I love you, girly. Please, watch over us from heaven.

I met Carly for the first time while working at Abercrombie. Whenever we were scheduled at the same time, it instantly made my work day way more fun. I remember our manager Meghan would always yell at me because I would be talking to Carly too much and not working.

Carly was the only girl I could talk football with (and she probably knew more about football than I did). We would constantly trade friendly jabs about the Browns and Steelers. 

I remember going into destination maternity with Carly while Kyla was working and just messing around with all the stuff in there. After that, we went on a Menchies date together because we both had never been there yet. We just sat in Menchies and talked for hours until they closed. Carly was someone who I could talk about anything with. There was never a dull moment when I had a conversation with Carly.

Carly was one of the nicest, smartest, and sweetest girls I've ever met. She took me out to sushi on my last day before I left for college in Florida. She had to convince me into getting sushi because I had never tried it before. When the bill came, she grabbed it from me and repeatedly insisted that she pay for the meal as my going away present. It was just one of many moments where Carly was looking to do something nice for someone else.

I remember how hard it was to leave for Florida because I liked her so much. I had so many great times in just the short year that I had the privilege of knowing Carly. She was someone who brightened my day anytime I was around her. You will be forever remembered and missed Carly.

We are devastated about the passing of Carly.  Our prayers are with your family during this most difficult time.

Carly, I wrote this for you on our last day together and I hope you were looking down and smilling: 
"Carly will always be the most important person in my life and we shared a love that no one else will ever understand. Carly and I were so close and it has been just awful since we lost her. She gave my life meaning, she was always the person I looked up to, the strongest girl I'll ever know, and that ray of hope whenever my world was cloudy. 
The best part about Carly though, was that she never let her problems, or our parents, ever stop her from doing what she wanted to do. She had so many goals and ambitions that she wanted to achieve, it's no surprise that she was in grad school by twenty.  She lived her life like there was no tomorrow and wanted to make the world a better place. She would even tell us how after she graduated from her speech therapy program, she was going to treat some of our family members.
There are so many memories of Carly that I could talk your ear off for days, but I will never forget our car rides singing to every song at the top of our lungs, tanning outside then tanning inside then getting a spray tan all in one day, and making Carly check every single paper I wrote in college to make sure it had correct grammar, which I'm sure she did for just about everybody else. 
Carly had so many great qualities, everything about Carly was just contagious. She was a ray of light and she would shine on anyone who met her and took the time to get to know her. She was the greatest sister anyone could have ever asked for and nobody will ever understand the amount of love I have for her. Carly and I did almost everything together our whole lives and knew everything about each other, even some things that I really didn't want to know. I don't know right now how I'll make it without her but I will do everything I can to keep her alive in my heart and soul and hopefully touch others' lives as much as she did. She will never be forgotten and I just want to tell her that I love her so much and she was the best sister in the world. "

I met Carly a year ago when we all started the Speech and Hearing program at CSU. She was always smiling and willing to help whenever needed. Your smile and presence will be greatly missed at CSU. I'm glad to have gotten to know you.

Joe and Angelina... although we didn't know your beautiful granddaughter.. our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.  All our love and deepest sympathy. My God help comfort you in your time of sorrow.

Carly was one of God's "special" children. Given to ordinary people to be raised and nurtured with love during their time on earth. We celebrate the lives of 2 ordinary people and their son at Christmas. We, too, are parents of a "special" child. We have spent countless hours & days at RBC, measuring each precious second of life, thankful for each one given. Perhaps these children are angels sent to walk with us, showing us how to love, care for others, and spread happiness. Carly touched everyone she met and will be remembered by all. I am so saddened by the passing of Carly.  I don't know how I am going to teach my Speech and Language Practicum class without her being right in front. I met Carly this fall as my graduate assistant and she had the opportunity to read to kindergarteners twice a week.  Those kids loved her!   They were always asking for her.  Carly  was an old soul, wise beyond her years, giving sage advice to her fellow students if they asked and always with a smile.  Her mighty positive presence will missed. Carly was so strong willed and very determined. I will never forget all the memories we had hanging out in Tanner Palace. It was truly a blessing to meet Carly and having the time together we did. Her memory will never be forgotten and her laughter will still ring high above the other noise. She was beautiful and was determined to get what she wanted. Rest in Paradise Carly. You will be missed and loved, but even if you're not here you're truly never gone.

I first came in contact with Carly through my oldest daughter, Arianna, who is a couple of years older than Carly. But Carly was friendly with all of my other two  daughters as well. I remember going to visit her down at UH and talking with her for the first time, I was struck at how mature and empathetic she was at such a young age. Carly and I would see each other at different places when we where out and about. She always had that smile, always! Then we started talking through Facebook, it wasn't a constant conversation but when we would see each others posts if something was going on, we would message each other to try to keep each other positive. We were at times each others cheerleaders. There were only two things we didn't see eye to eye on and that was The Pittsburgh Steelers and Politics. We decided it was best to agree to disagree and to stay away from those subjects. 
Carly is a very loving, empathetic, generous, kind, sympathetic,  beautiful, admirable, radiant, compassionate, considerate, I could go on but anyone who knows her already knows this about her. I am not using past tense because Carly I feel still lives on in all of our hearts, she touched them so. Which is very evident by everything I am reading. Carly, a beautiful girl with such a sweet smile and a big heart. Thank you for touching all of these hearts and we promise to keep you in ours.

I knew Carly as a little girl when she attended St. Mary of the Falls School. She would come to see me everyday in the office to take her medicine. She never complained about being sick or not feeling well. She always had such a sweet smile.

Spending the New Year in the arms of our Lord - is a comforting way to think of such a young woman's passing.  God bless your whole family.

When I think of Carly, I see her large, gentle, captivating eyes and broad disarming smile.  That was Carly – a lovely, spirited soul.  Although small in stature, her presence was large and carried an unmistakably positive energy.  My encounters with her at the CSU Speech & Hearing Program always left me glad she had come by because she carried “life” with her.  Her remarkable dedication to meeting her academic goals in the face of challenges will remain an inspiration for myself and others to follow.

Right now we must all bear that cold, painful void that strikes when a dear one departs.  However, each memory of how Carly wonderfully touched our lives will slowly warm and fill that void.  The place that hurts so much now will gradually become a precious storehouse of all the many ways she enriched us.  

God, thank you for the privilege of knowing Carly.  Most important, may Your great mercies enfold the DeFranco family at this most difficult time and comfort them as only You can.

I feel lucky I had the privalege of marrying into your family and meeting such a beautiful girl inside and out... I am lucky to have watched you grow into a young lady, I always love the way Jeremy lites up when he talks to you or about you! I know god has a bigger plan for you now!

Carly always encouraged me to do my work in college and to stick to my goals. That was because she was sticking to her goals.  She was beautiful and a wonderful person.  I love and will miss her.

Carly was a very beautiful and caring human being from the first time I met Carly, her friendly and outgoing personality instantly stood out and captured me. I'll never forget every time you showed up to work you would smile and hug me everyday and it was all I would need to make it through the day. I will forever miss you Carly.

Everyday, you could count on Carly to have the bright smile that would make the day better. She knew how to live her life so that nothing could bring her down, and she made sure to help others as well. I am so blessed to have gone to school with and had the opportunity to be friends with Carly. She will be forever missed.

I never had the pleasure of knowing this incredible young lady.  I have sat here in front of the computer for the last hour reading all about her life.  She seemed so incredible.  May she rest in peace forever in heaven, no more pain or suffering.  Even for only a short time: Job well done my servant, time now to rest.  May God bless the family that raised her to be so special.  I'm sure you are very proud.

Carly was a friend to my son when he needed one most. He was alone at college and having troubles and Carly helped him. She would text me from time to time to let me know he was ok.  To Carly's mom, you have no idea how Carly helped Jimmy when he needed it. You raised a beautiful and caring girl. We were blessed to have her as long as we did. May God comfort your family during this terrible time.

The fondest memories that I have of Carly were made this past summer. Carly and I would text each other every day and would try and make plans to hang out whenever our busy schedules allowed it. The best memory that I have of Carly is when we went Putt-putting at buzzard's cove in Hinckley during the summer. We talked a lot of smack and challenged each other to see who could get the lowest score. We finally got to the 17th hole where Carly placed her ball on the mat and stood over it. Before she hit, I said “If you get a hole in one, I will buy you ice cream.” Carly nodded accepting the deal and looked back down at the ball and swung. Needless to say, she was enjoying a very large ice cream cone after our round. Carly and I had made plans to do so many things when she got out of the hospital this last time. She wanted to go out to dinner again, take pictures with each other and go to an Indians game. God had another plan for his angel Carly though. She was the greatest person to be around. Always smiling and laughing and she truly did live her life with no regrets. To the entire DeFranco family, you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Carly had an immense impact on my life and always saw the positives in any situation. She will never be forgotten and will always live on in our hearts and memories.

To Carly and her family:

I went to St. Mary of the Falls, although I was a few years ahead of you, you were in my cousin Samantha's grade. I remember speaking with you briefly on our bus rides to and from school. I can't recall ever meeting a girl such as sweet and genuine as you. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I am terribly sorry that this world lost you. God bless you and your family and I will keep you in my prayers.

I met Carly a few years ago when we were both admitted for a tune up. Instant friends we became. I will always remember your contagious laugh and sunshine you brought when you walked in a room Carly. My heart is so broken, but I know now you are free from struggle now. You will be missed every day.

Carly, youre a blessing to those who loved you. I didn't get enough time to know you, only a few days at work, but in that time that I did I figured out that youre a fun-loving, caring, sweet person. Even Derek Tucker tells me all about you and I know that he was very fortunate to have you. You're surely rewarded in a beautiful place now. Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on Derek, keep him in line, and make sure he's not off buying his 4th evo or some other crazy random car. May your beautiful soul rest in peace. ?

The news of Carly's passing shook me to my core. I met Carly last year when she enrolled in Intro to Audiology at CSU.  In the fall, Carly became ill and went for one of her many stays in the hospital.  Carly was determined to finish the semester.  She talked her physicians into allowing her to hook up her laptop computer so that I could lecture to her online through a chat room.  I could not believe the determination she had.  For my classes, Carly always was a "no doubt about it 'A'."  I am going to miss her smile and her positive energy.  As one of Carly's instructors, I am forever changed for the blessing that came to me in an opportunity to meet such a sweet, kind person. I will never forget you Carly!

Renzo & Family,  I am so sorry to hear about Carly.  Although I never had the opportunity to have met her, my son did.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.  May God bless you.

I know that i only knew you for a short while, but you impressed me with your sense of humor and good heart. I wish I could have had more time to get to know you. Rest in peace Carly and know that you will always remain in our hearts.

There is so much I could say about Carly but I'm sure everyone knows no matter what we say we wouldn't be able to do her justice. Carly was the most selfless person I have ever known. She always cared about what she could do for you rather than you do for her. Her smile was contagious and her laugh was incredible, anytime I was with her I was having fun. She made the most simple things like sitting on the couch watching "Blue Mountain State" and gossiping all afternoon one of my favorite activities. Whenever I was feeling sad or upset about something I would always call or text her and she knew just what to say to pull me out of my funk. Even the nights I would get into a fight with Branden she was the one who would stop her plans and meet me at her house for some girl talk over soup (because we were obsessed with soup). We always would invite Carly over on Sundays to watch football with me and Branden because she was company for the both of us- girl talk with me and football talk with Branden. She was our perfect match! One of the highlights of my summer 2012 was our Sunday Funday (which turns out isn't so fun the next day, sorry Renzo!). She was determined to teach everyone dizzy bat and playing it with her was hilarious! While trying to show us how it was done she spun and went to hit the can and fell straight over! Carly was always on my side no matter if I was right or wrong... Unless I said something bad about the steelers- then I was wrong.
Carly loved to correct my grammar and punctuation mistakes so I'm sure she is watching over me writing this right now just shaking her head. I am so glad she let us visit her as many times as we did the past month. With the smile on her face while we were there you wouldn't have even been able to tell she was sick. To be honest I'm not sure if I've ever seen that girl sad (mad yes, but sad no). There has always been the most genuine smile on her face from the first day I met her. Carly was so ahead of everyone else our age, she was 20 and in grad school! I'm sure not many 20 year olds can say that! She was the smartest and most focused individual I have ever known. She knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life and I'm sad she didn't get to fulfill her dreams. She always pushed me to be a better person and I hope I can be 1/10 the girl she was. She had more faith in me than I ever had in myself and she told me I could do anything. But I knew that no matter what I chose to do she would be there backing me up and helping me the whole way. She always tried to see the best in people and give them the benefit of the doubt. Carly was so easy to get along with and talk to. We could go out and do something and within 5 minutes someone she had just met would want to be her friend. She was a true inspiration to me and everyone who knew her. She has made such an impact on my life and there has not been one hour that she hasn't crossed my mind for some reason. I am very thankful that she and the DeFranco family came into my life. Her parents are amazing people who always made me feel good while I was with them. They raised an amazing and incredible daughter who has touched so many lives. I feel blessed and lucky to have known her. Carly was the best person I'm sure I will ever know. She was my best friend and I will always remember the fun and absolute joy she brought to my life. Although I miss her dearly and whenever something happens I'm going to wish I could tell her about it, I know she is watching down on me and everyone else she loved from heaven. She was the most beautiful person inside and out and now she is the most beautiful angel. RIP Carly, I love you so much and you will always have a permanent place in my heart.

Carly you were such an amazing, funny, caring, and intelligent person.  The world is a colder and sad place without you in it.  I was so happy and proud as an SLP that you decided to change your career plans.  I will always remember the fun times at work we had.  The patients loved you and enjoyed when you tagged along in my sessions.  I won't forget how you kept your word and put on the Browns jersey for one of the rare occassions we beat your beloved Steelers.  My sincerest and deepest condolences to your family and close friends.  May you rest in peace.

Carly told me that life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it. She lived by that quote and I will continue to do so the rest of my life.

Dear Family, we share in your sorrow and rejoice in your trust in where Karly will be till you and she are runited again in glry. Carly, the wonderful woman that I had the honor of calling a childhood best friend. Although we have gone our separate ways for the last year or so but, you have left footprints in my life that can never be erased. All the memories that we were able to share and laugh over be forever in my heart.

Carly what else can I say other than you were the best friend I could ever ask for. We could talk about anything with each other and I'll never forget how even if we were fighting, the moment we saw each other we were instantly fine and just had a great time! You always said only we really understand each other and man you couldn't have been anymore correct about that. There was just something special about you, you put off this sort of good energy and it was a rare moment if you didn't have that beautiful smile on your face. You helped guide me and make me into the man I am today and I am forever grateful for that, five years just wasn't enough time with you I wish we had more. I've been talking to you in my prayers a few times a day and I will always continue to do so, maybe if I'm lucky I'll hear something back.

Carly, I can't believe I only got to know you for such a short amount of time. Yet during this time you made much a huge impact on my life. I've never known someone to be as positive as you. You were always there for me to talk to. Carly, you always told me I was smart, beautiful, etc and could make it through anything i wanted. You loved hearing all of my stories and I loved being able to share them with you. I'm deeply saddened to have lost a great friend. But, I know heaven has gained an amazing and beautiful angel. I also know you'll be with me through all my obstacles ahead just like you always were. I know too that you'll be with me during graduation, and wedding, you know how crazy I was about this. You may not be here on Earth anymore but, you live in everyone's heart who ever knew you.  Rest in peace Carly. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers forever.

Carly's death notice drew my attention this Christmas morning. I am a DeFranco and  believe all the DiFrancos and DeFrancos are from one family that originated in small towns in the Rionero Sannitico area. My condolences to all who loved this beautiful young lady she will be missed.

 I know this is a very difficult time for the family, soon the fulfillment of Isaiah 28:8 when  GOD will swallow up death forever and will certainly wipe the tears from all faces.  Hope you get comfort from the memories of your love  one .

Carly really made a huge impact on a lot of people's lives. I'm so happy to have gone to school with her during both elementary and high school. Cheerleading with Carly was the best! She always had a huge smile on her face always was laughing and making sure everyone around her was too! I have so many great memories with her, I will never forget her ever. She is such a beautiful, cheerful, funny, and caring person. Love you Carly! And to the family I'm so sorry you are in my prayers I love you all:)

To the DeFranco family, I am so sorry for your loss...it was a pleasure taking care of carly...our entire staff is thinking of you and sending prayers your way, she will be missed!

Carly was truly a bright spot in my teaching career. A beautiful daughter of God - inside and out. May her family and friends feel the comforting arms of the Lord around them just as they now surround Carly.

I've never seen her without a big smile on her face. Cheerleading with her was always so much fun! Whenever we went to teach cheers to the elementary students she would have such a good time with them. They all just adored her. Truly a good person. Rest peacefully, Carly.

  Carly was a very special girl in my life for the time I knew her, and even though it has been a few since we have gone our separate ways, the time that we enjoyed together will never be forgotten. She has given me  immense advice and beautiful memories that could never be lost to time. She was a blinding light of joy and happiness in the life of everyone she met. She will always have a spot in my heart reserved for only her and the memories that we shared together. She will always be loved and remembered for the truly beautiful and wonderful girl that she was. Carly I will miss you.

Carly was the most genuine person I have ever met. She was always smiling and would do anything to cheer someone up. I am so lucky I had the pleasure to become friends with her. We were so close in 7th and 8th grade. I remember spending the 8th grade class trip to Washington DC together, making up our own secret code names for boys, and always gossiping on the phone together after school. Carly was so motivated and driven, which allowed her to accomplish so much in her life.  I will never forget you Carly, I love you. You will always have a place in my heart.

Carly was an inspiration to us all, and will be missed so very much. God took a perfect angel home when He choose Carly. Chad said that after meeting my family at our last party at Mamaws house, Carly was the one who convienced him that he wanted to be apart of this great family. So for that I will always be thankful to her. We all love you Carly!!!

There are honestly not enough things I can say to describe what an amazing person Carly was. she was so smart and funny and could brighten any room. we had endless good times cheerleading and tumbling and our whole squad was so close. ill never forget our venting sessions. early morning games and late night ones. she gave everything her all and never gave up. I am so happy to have had the chance to have such a great person as my friend and will miss her so much. God only takes the best ones home. gone but never forgotten. I love you baby doll!

Carly was always one of the most loving and caring people I have been blessed to know. She became like a little sister to me when her big sister, Kyla, and I became best friends back in high school. There are so many memories that we all shared, and I will always cherish them. I love you Carly and your smile will always warm my heart and will never be forgotten. Team DeFranco for ever! I know you will bring your light to heaven like you did here. I will miss you girl! <3

Carly was such an intelligent girl. She always was willing to help me & our other classmates in Cleveland State University's Speech & Hearing graduate program. Our speech family will never forget Carly. In a short time, she touched many lives & accomplished what many people never will. My deepest condolences to Carly's family.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Carly while she attended Shawnee State University. She was such an awesome young lady who had so much potential and accomplished so much in her short life. I couldn't be more sorrow filled that her bright light went out far too soon.
