Catherine “Kay'' Julia Bon (nee Glagola), age 93, passed away on April 4th, 2022. A kind, generous and beautiful soul, she departed earth to board the heavenly plane with the love of her life and husband of 65 years, William. Kay was the youngest of 8 siblings born to Andrew and Helen Glagola. Kay and William met in their hometown of Royal, PA and then made Parma Heights, OH their home where they raised 3 sons, William A. Bon, Jr. (Jane), Richard Bon (Sharon) and John Bon (Jean). She was also a loving grandmother to William A. III (Sana), Jacqueline, Alexander, Sarah and Evan and great grandmother to Cleo and Tessa.
Kay worked part-time for Sears in the accounting department while the children were young. Family was everything to Kay and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who called her Nanny. Holiday celebrations were always joyful occasions complete with homemade chocolate chip cookies, nut roll, pierogi, cheesy potatoes and apple squares.
When her sons were in college, Kay and William became world travelers embarking on many adventures. Kay particularly enjoyed riding on the back of a camel to the Great Pyramids and visiting the Holy Land. One of her favorite memories was singing Christmas carols in the Grotto of the Nativity.
We truly believe that while Kay has closed this chapter of her life, she has been reunited with Wiliam and all her departed loved ones for eternity. We believe that her beautiful and loving spirit will be with us forever. Love never dies.
