
Reverend Dan Jenkins, age 73, of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, entered into eternal rest on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends and welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Savior.
Born on November 23, 1952, to Bennie and Evelyn Jenkins, Dan was raised in Southington, Ohio, where he developed the faith, character, and love for others that would define his life and ministry.
Dan dedicated his life to serving God and answering His call to ministry. He attended Baldwin Wallace College, Cleveland State University, and Ashland Theological Seminary, preparing for a lifetime of pastoral service. Throughout his ministry, he faithfully served numerous congregations, offering spiritual guidance, compassionate care, and the message of God’s love to all who crossed his path.
Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joy Jenkins; his parents, Bennie and Evelyn Jenkins; and three of his children, Michael Jenkins, Christopher Jenkins, and Ashley Jenkins.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, and Amber (Ryan) Goff. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Grace Goff, Madison Goff, and Ben Goff, whom he cherished deeply. He is also survived by extended family members, dear friends, former parishioners, and countless individuals whose lives were touched by his faith and kindness.
Dan found joy in spending time with his family, cheering on football teams, sharing stories and laughter, and making trips to the Hot Dog Shoppe in Warren, Ohio. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Above all, Dan loved serving God and sharing Christ’s message of hope, grace, and salvation.
Those who knew Dan will remember his warm smile, quick wit, compassionate heart, and unwavering faith. His life was a testament to the power of God’s love and the importance of serving others. While his family mourns his passing, they find comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with loved ones who went before him and has heard the words he longed to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
A Celebration of Life honoring Reverend Dan Jenkins will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Strongsville United Methodist Church, 13500 Royalton Rd. Strongsville. Visitation with family will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.
Dan’s legacy of faith, love, laughter, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
