Dave was born on May 16th, 1948 to George and Marguerite Riehl in Columbus, Ohio. After Dave graduated from Franklin High School, he attended The Ohio State University for undergrad where he was part of a Sigma Chi fraternity. From there he pursued a law degree from the Cleveland – Marshall College of Law. He practiced law for just over 50 years out of Brunswick, Ohio. Dave was Captain of Special Forces in the army. He was President of Brunswick Rotary Club & active member of Strongsville Rotary Club.
He was an avid reader, a lover of every dog he ever met, a life-long Buckeye fan, but most importantly he was a husband, a father, a brother, and an uncle. Family was everything to Dave. He is survived by his wife (Virginia Riehl), his two daughters, Dayna Cline (Shawn Cline) and Shauna Riehl (Christopher Wetmore, fiancé) along with four grandchildren (Keanu, Bodhi, Shawn, and Kaitlyn). He reunites with his mother (Marguerite Riehl) and father (George Riehl) along with his younger brother (Tommy Riehl) and stepmother (Anne Riehl); as well as his mother-in-law (Mary Comanita) and father-in-law (Virgil Comanita).
A visitation for David will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 4PM to 7PM, with a Saracusta Prayer service at 430PM at Craciun Funeral Home, 14925 E Bagley Rd, Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Cathedral., 3256 Warren Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44111. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
