Dennis Mullen Okerbloom

Dennis Mullen Okerbloom, of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on Thursday April 23, 2020. Dennis was born November 4, 1939 in Bronx, NY. Mr. Dennis Mullen Okerbloom “Oke” died peacefully on April 23, 2020 in Cleveland, OH at the age of 80.

Oke is survived by his wife of 57 years Gail Okerbloom (nee Kosar), loving father of David Okerbloom, Patrick, Heidi Okerbloom (nee Strimbel), and Glenn Okerbloom, dearest grandfather of Hayden Okerbloom, and dear son of the late Joseph Okerbloom and Anne Okerbloom (nee Mullen).

Oke attended Fenwick High School in Oak Park, IL. He graduated from John Carroll University in 1961 with a degree in business. He then served two years in the army and married the love of his life Gail Okerbloom in 1963. After moving to Cleveland Oke began working in advertising for many years and won several advertising awards throughout his career. Oke played high school baseball and basketball and also played college basketball at John Carroll University. He played softball for many years in North Olmsted, OH for “The Cottage” and was very active at Assumption parish in Broadview Heights, OH becoming President of Parish Counsel and Holy Name Society. He was a big fan of Notre Dame football and was known for his great sense of humor. Oke was proud to serve his country as a second lieutenant in the United States Army Transportation Corps. and became members of Brunswick VFW Post 9520 and Lodi American Legion Post 523.
