DONALD H. HARDY

Donald H. Hardy Age 89.  Passed away November 27, 2021.  Beloved husband to Beverly (DeMark) for over 64 years. He was the loving son to Roy Hardy and Viola Baird.  A Devoted father to David Hardy and Kim O’Keefe and a cherished grandfather to Meghan O’Keefe, Riley O’Keefe, Conor O’Keefe. He was the brother of the following deceased siblings Roy Hardy Jr., Leonard Hardy, Mary Mestrovich, Evelyn Kelley. 

Don was born in Cleveland, Ohio and attended West Technical High School.  After school he worked for Westinghouse Electric, Cleveland, OH in industrial controls.  He then joined the Army from 1952 - 1954 and was stationed in North Korea.  After the Army he returned to Cleveland and worked at NASA until his retirement in 1986.  In 1980 he started Space Age Industrial Design, Inc. which continued until 2000. 

He married his beautiful bride Beverly on May 7, 1957 at St Bernadette, Church in Westlake, Ohio.  They then moved to Olmsted Falls, Ohio where they resided for 60 years.   He was a Lay Minister for 37 years at Saint Mary’s of the Falls.  Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather friend and inspiration to many.  Don and Bev enjoyed dancing and his favorite was the Waltz at many locations throughout the Cleveland area and a member of the Elyria VFW.

To quote Candide and Dr. Pangloss, “There is no effect without a cause.  All things are necessarily connected and arranged for the best.”  Don has now returned to the garden to reason about cause and effect; it could not be otherwise, and continue the “Best Day of His Life”.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be forwarded to Hospice of the Western Reserve or St. Mary’s of the Falls.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday December 10, 2021 from 1 - 3 PM with a service at 2:30 PM at THE A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OHIO (WEST of I-71)
