Donna M. Barbee

Donna Marie Barbee (nee Brasty), age 64, passed away November 22, 2023. Beloved wife of William Barbee. Loving mother of Steven Barbee (Kate), godmother of Karoline Maciak (Justin), stepmother of Aren Edwards-Barbee (Jami). Cherished grandmother of Jack, Colton, Reese, and Areste. Dear sister of Diane Brasty, Sue Malecki (Wayne), Sandy Stilla (Marty), Gina Hollman (Walt), and the late Jerry Brasty (Cheryl). Loving aunt, cousin, and friend of many.

Donna poured herself out in service to others. As a children’s ministry leader, she invested in countless kids, teaching them about who God is and what He’s done for us through His Son. As a day care director, she provided quality, loving care for many families. As an event coordinator and caterer, she worked with excellence and kindness, creating meaningful memories for many. As a church administrator, she helped those who no one else wanted to help. As a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, she provided faithful love, joy, and wisdom. 

Donna was the one you called in a pinch and knew she would listen and help. She could give you one look, one smile, or one song, and it would assure you everything would be okay. She was generous and sacrificial; she didn’t love timidly, but lavishly.

Donna poured herself out in service to others because God first poured Himself out in service to her. She reflected the love that she received. 1 John 4:10-11 - “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

Family and friends are welcome Friday from 4 – 8 pm at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71), where her memorial service will begin at 7:00 pm. 

Her graveside service is at 10:30 am Saturday December 2, 2023, at Woodvale Cemetery (PLEASE MEET AT THE ENGLE RD. ENTRANCE OF THE CEMETERY).
