See a butterfly and think of Elaine. A beautiful lady inside and out. All those years ago she caught Bob’s eye, and after 61 years of marriage he still gushed about his lovely lady.
Turns out butterflies have great strength too, and a fearless will. She raised 3 kids. Busy as a mom and housewife while also working outside the home—she retired from Key Bank, and doing hair on weekends—she was a licensed cosmotologist. Mom provided the sweetest childhood memories and kept her faith in God at the center of our family.
Where did she find the energy? The crafting, sewing, cooking, and constant gatherings with family and friends. And this butterfly could travel: driving a camper across the country several times and captaining their boat across Lake Erie. Mom loved nature—camping and fishing, animals of all kinds, and especially the fur babies she cared for. Her most beloved, Willey, was her comfort and companion throughout her illness.
Elaine was a fun loving free spirit, and a true warrior in her cancer battle. No, she was a Bad Ass—exceeding all expectations!
Giving all of us: family, friends, neighbors and her church community more time to be touched by the beautiful butterfly that was Elaine.
Our family would like to give special thanks to Miracle City Hospice for the loving care they gave our precious Mom.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be held at St. Matthias Church, 1200 Sprague Road, Parma, Ohio on Friday April 24, 2026 at 12 Noon.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11 AM to 12 NOON prior to the mass.
