

Born in Cleveland on September 29, 1932, Florence entered into eternity on May 20, 2026, at the age of 93. Florence was a resident of Middleburg Heights and was preceded in death by her husband, John Carmen Cozza; her son, John Salvatore Cozza; her sisters, Bernice Hummel, Virginia Hummel, and Phyllis Wise; and her grandsons, Nathan Allen Cozza and Mark Salvatore Cozza. She is survived by her children, Jacqueline Whittington (Randy), James Cozza (Miriam), and Sharon Zeck (David).
Florence was the grandmother of Kelly (Mike), Timothy, Jenelle, Rachael (Keith), Danielle, Kayla (Jorge), Abigael (Timothy), Bradley, Joshua, Alexander, and Patty Dawson (Jason).
She was also the great-grandmother of Jared, Isabella, Lucas, Natalie, Benjamin, Harper, Alexandria, EmJae, Viviana, Jansen, Giselle, and Emmeline.
Florence graduated from West Tech High School, Class of 1950. She spent her working years in banking. Florence had many hobbies and passions. Florence and John were the origional house-flippers, moving frequently. In her free time, she could often be found shopping for bargains, traveling to Las Vegas with her husband, spending time with her high school club friends, and reading anything she could find. She loved dogs, which were constant companions throughout her life. She was also a sports lover and an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
A private graveside ceremony will be held for immediate family members. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Pleasant Hills Methodist Church by Dr. Allan Georgia.
Memorial contributions to The Malachi House, in honor of Nathan, Mark, and John Cozza, would be appreciated by the family.
