Gary Lee Boggs Sr., born on July 19, 1962, was a hardworking, clever, and down-to-earth man who lived a life centered around family, service, and a love for learning. Gary passed away on June 16, 2025 after a courageous battle with ALS, a journey he faced with unwavering strength, grace, and dignity. For years, many more than expected, Gary’s fight inspired those around him with his resilience and his refusal to let the disease define his spirit. Known for his assertiveness and willingness to help anyone in need, Gary was a constant source of strength and guidance to all who knew him.
A simple man at heart, he found joy in life’s little pleasures—rock and roll music, the companionship of his pets, and the endless pursuit of new knowledge. His grandchildren were his greatest joy, and he cherished the time spent with them, imparting his wisdom and love with every moment.
As a devoted father, he took great pride in coaching his children’s baseball teams, teaching them not just the game, but also the importance of teamwork and perseverance. Through coaching Gary touched the lives of many children instilling confidence, resilience, and dedication.
Gary deeply loved his beloved wife, Margaret, his high school sweetheart and partner of 47 years, cherishing a lifetime of love, laughter, and unwavering support that began in their teenage years and endured through every season of life.
Gary was also a talented mechanic and skilled handyman, never shying away from a project and always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Whether repairing a car, fixing a leaky pipe, or helping a neighbor with a home improvement task, his hands were always busy and his heart always open. His love for learning remained steadfast throughout his life, and he believed that no matter your age, there was always something new to discover. Gary loved music for the way it speaks to the soul, helped him express his emotions and for the memories that words alone could never fully capture.
He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret Boggs; his sons Bradley Boggs, Matthew Boggs, and Steven Boggs; his daughter and son-in-law Margie and Ari Stockfish; and his cherished grandchildren Marie, Alyssa, Chloe, and Leo. The love and wisdom Gary shared with his family will never be forgotten, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who loved him. Gary was preceded in death by his son, Gary Boggs Jr., whom he loved dearly. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication to family will continue to inspire those who knew him. Gary’s steady presence, sense of humor, and unwavering support will be sorely missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Gary often joked, “I’m the man every man wants to be, and the man every woman wants her man to be.” Though he said it with a smile, he carried those words with pride, striving each day to live up to that ideal. It was more than a catchphrase—it was a reflection of how he approached life, with confidence, integrity, and a deep desire to be his very best for those around him.
