

Helen Marie Kovach, RN (née Jacobs), age 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in her home surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of the late George, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. Loving mother of Anne Crynick (Tom), Kristine Bogas (William), and David (Mickey). Cherished Nana to Steven, Lisa (deceased), John, Billy, Halle, George, Amber Giaimo (Matt), and Connor. Helen now joins her beloved sister Florence Zavesky and brother Tom Jacobs in heaven, leaving behind her brother and best friend, George Jacobs.
Helen was born on April 1, 1941, to George and Anna Jacobs near Youngstown, Ohio. Shortly after, her family moved to the southeast Cleveland area. She graduated from Hoban Dominican High School, St. John’s Nursing School, and later earned her degree from Ursuline College. Helen’s remarkable career as a registered nurse and educator spanned 50 years, driven by her deep passion for helping others. She also cherished her monthly luncheons with high school and nursing friends.
Helen embraced life with a sense of adventure and an inspiring free spirit. Her devotion to God and her family was boundless. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and delighted in their visits. Helen was an active and vibrant woman who enjoyed volunteering with St. Albert the Great’s Helping Hands and Feeding the Hungry ministries. She found joy in quilting as a member of North Royalton’s “Keep Us In Stitches” Quilt Club as well as her love for reading, and playing Mahjong and Scrabble.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday February 3, 2025, St. Albert the Great Church, 6667 Wallings Rd at 10 AM (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment PRIVATE. The family will receive friends SUNDAY 1 - 4 PM at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS (WEST OF I-71).
