James R. Browning, born on March 25, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Rhea (nee Steppke). Loving father of April Smolik (John), Beth David (Pierre), Jim Browning (Kelly) and Tom Browning (Marie). Cherished grandfather of Jamie Greenwell (Billy), Audrey Krolik (Eric), John Smolik Jr., Natalie David, Caroline David (Eric Hanson), Timothy David, Haley Kent (Peter), Jim Browning, Julianna Browning, Madelyn Browning, and Jeremy Browning. Great grandfather of McKenzie and Marcel. Dear brother of the late Robert Browning and David Browning.
Jim was a remarkable man whose life was defined by family, faith, love, curiosity, determination, and an enduring spirit of innovation. As a father of four, grandfather to eleven, and great-grandfather to two, he built a legacy rooted in love, resilience, and a deep commitment to family.
A true inventor, entrepreneur, and businessman, he poured his creativity and drive into every endeavor. Throughout his years as the owner of two local businesses, CORSA Performance and Ultimate Headers, he formed countless friendships and professional relationships that reflected his integrity, generosity, and passion for helping others succeed.
He was a man who loved to learn — a dedicated reader with an insatiable appetite for knowledge. He devoured books, magazines, and articles, always eager to understand how things worked and why they worked that way. And of course, anything with an engine sparked his excitement: cars, boats, planes, and military vehicles. If it moved, he wanted to understand it, or find a way to make it better.
Those who knew him will remember his sharp mind and ability to turn strangers into friends. His influence lives on not only in the work he created, but in the values he instilled in all of us: curiosity, hard work, kindness, and courage.
We are grateful for the many memories, lessons, and moments he gifted us. Though our hearts ache, we celebrate a life well lived and a man deeply loved.
May he rest in peace, surrounded by the family he adored and the peace he so richly deserves.
Rev your engine in memory of Jim.
