Jean M. Haussman

JEAN HAUSSMAN (nee Terlop), age 65. Devoted mother of Jennifer Haussman (Chris O’Brien), Melissa Martino (Tony), and Matthew Haussman (Alex); cherished grandmother of Zachary, Christopher, Julianna, Connor, Jacob, and Chase; loving sister of Cheri Hanzel (Joe), Russ Terlop (Johanna), Darrell Terlop (Fran), and Pete Terlop (Advia); dear daughter of Shirley and Russell Terlop (deceased); former wife of, still friends with Floyd; also survived by many nieces nephews and caring friends.

Jean led a life that was full of family, friends, love, laughter, dedication, determination, loyalty, strength, kindness and generosity.  She was the calm, the storm and rainbows that followed in everyone’s life.  

From an early age, Jean had an enthusiasm for taking care of others that could be seen and felt every day of her life. Her free-spirited nature propelled her kindness to others and her life of the party sensibility inspired numerous memories made around home cooked meals and gatherings. Jean was an avid sports fan who you could hear shouting ‘here we go Brownies’ from miles away or cheering for her favorite Cleveland baseball team while sitting outside and enjoying a game. Her passion for the outdoors and gardening brought her joy and peace, as she could spend countless hours lost in her space curating and taking in the beauty she created.

Mostly, Jean’s devotion and endless passion for her family, her children and grandchildren, is a quality and volume that cannot be measured or matched. With countless movie nights, living room dance parties, making a mess in the kitchen, food fights, hangouts with board games, nerf gun battles, coloring books, building forts, campfires and catching lightning bugs.  She was always there with open arms and our favorite foods waiting… the memories and moments are too numerous to count.

Through happiness and laughter, trials and tribulations, the road you created was traveled well and overflows with unconditional love and support and we cannot thank you enough for without you, we wouldn’t be us.   

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory are suggested to the American Lung Association at action.lung.org

Funeral services 6:00 pm Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the funeral home.

The family will receive friends THURSDAY 4-6 PM at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OHIO 44130 (WEST of I-71)
