

Jeremy R. Litz, age 88, passed away October 31, 2022. Loving husband of 65 years to Jacqueline (nee: Petitti). Devoted father to Raymond Litz (Janice) and Eileen Ashton (Greg). Beloved grandfather to Matthew Ashton (Jeni), Jeremy Litz (Amber), Melanee Litz, Melissa Salva (Alonzo), Rachel Ashton-Misciasci (Matthew). Great-grandfather to Mariahn Litz, Cole Ashton, Ryker Litz, Cami Ashton and Evalyn Salva. Jeremy's family meant the world to him. Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Julia Whitt and mother Anne Johnson. Jeremy was an honorary grandfather to many throughout the years.
Jeremy was a retired Cleveland Firefighter with local union #93, member of the American Legion, and a veteran of the US Air Force.
Jeremy was born on August 23, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955 where he was stationed in Guam during the Korean War. Returning home, he continued his public service as a Cleveland Fireman from 1962 to 1990, ultimately retiring due to injuries sustained while fighting fires.
Besides family and public service, Jeremy had many other passions in life. He was an avid car enthusiast, owning several sports cars (favoring Jaguars) and was a 30 year member of the Jaguar Club of Ohio and two term president. He made many cross county motorcycle trips with friends. Jeremy, with his wife Jackie, filled their lives with adventures around the world including cruises and trips to Europe.
Of special note is the beloved "cottage" on Pleasant Hill Lake. Jeremy's greatest joy to share with his wife was spending time with family at their cottage. Memories that will survive generations were made while boating on the lake and around the campfire.
Funeral services Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, 11am at the A. Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home, 18149 Bagley Rd., Middleburg Heights, (West of I-71). Inurnment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, November 7, 2022 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Charities or Providence House Crisis Nursery. SERVICES ENTRUSTED TO THE A.
