As we are standing here today,  saying  see ya later to a most special person that touched our lives in more ways than we could have imagined. I think we can all feel at peace that she is with Grandpa now, free of pain, joined once again with her love. She will be missed greatly. As her grandchildren we need to share our memories with not only each other but with our own children. We need to never forget what Grandpa and Grandma taught us, how we laughed, danced, cook and sang. They were the most supportive and loving grandparents  we will ever know, and never wavered in her devotion through any catastrophe, mess or pickle we managed to get ourselves into. In their eyes we were always good, no matter what.  They taught us all that unconditional love and acceptance that we know of as…our family. 
So cousins, older and younger, we all share memories. Some are longer and more detailed. We must promise now that we will share all of our memories with our children and their children. They need to know what they came from and how important that is. They shaped our lives.  
So whether we are in Cleveland, Lorain, Bowling Green, Vegas, Tennessee, South Dakota, New Mexico, Boston or Texas,  we will love and miss you Grandma and Grandpa. Rest in peace together, we will never forget you!

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom, Joann. We will not forget her beautiful smile. We also won't forget all the fun we had at the family reunions. What a blast we had! You can rest assured that she is in heaven with your dad, singing, with him playing the guitar.  Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.

You made both your Mother and Father proud yesterday with the heartfelt words. And you are right, their legacy lives on with all of you, their children, the parents now.

Besides being our Mother. . . you were a perfect wife, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend.  Most of all, the most beautiful woman we have ever known.  Your laugh and your smile will be missed as we go through our daily lives.  We always knew there was something more about you though, something deep inside that you believed in something bigger than yourself and we know that it was the passion you had for family.  You taught us unconditional love for each other, and our children.  There wasn't anything you wouldn't do if we asked and I see that in all of us, our children and our extended families.  Rosie once told me that there isn't anything we couldn't accomplish because we came from good STOCK.   The foundation that you and Dad set for us will keep us happy and close to each other for the rest of our lives. Now, More than ever, we are so proud to be Joann and Mike's kids. And mom, it's ok that Jackie is your favorite,. . . . she's one of ours too.

At first I wanted to talk TO my mother and tell her how much she meant to me, and how I loved her and will miss her. But I believe that during her last days we all were fortunate enough to be able to have our time with her and tell her those things we felt we needed to.  So I thought about what mom would want me to say and it was pretty obvious as I think about that last days we spent together. 
For Mom, family was her life and her life was her family. Her strength came for her everlasting devotion to her true love; My Dad.  She was persistent to see her children with anything less then what she thought we deserved. She continually instilled our family values and traditions, and constantly reminded us of her musical family background, which is why we constantly felt we needed to entertain her, and we did in our own ways through acting, singing, and dancing even though none of us really had a lick of talent, in moms eyes we were perfect. 
But what I want to say and I think that my mom will be happy to hear this.  
The moment we found out mom was going to be leaving us, for a split second I felt frightened and nervous and scared. I thought I don't have my Dad, and now I don't have my Mom… and it was a very strange feeling to me. Being the baby of the family, I thought mommy will be here always. But on the very first day that she was gone, I looked around and realized that I still have my mom and my dad. Everywhere I looked I saw them both, my sisters, my brother, our children. Our parents knew what they were doing when they were raising us. They gave us the guidance the strength the tools to create the life that they had. So I'm not scared or frightened to not have my mom or my dad because my sisters and brother and our children all carry a part of them inside. We know it and we feel it and we will carry on the values and traditions that were so very much alive in them. And Mom, Don't worry, we will all get along while doing this.

I'm going to miss my best friend. My shopping juants to Walmart won't be the same, and when I am at our favorite cafe playing M&M's I'll be thinking about Joann. My deepest sympathy to all the family, and don't forget I'm here for you girls.

Loved when Aunt Joan , Uncle Mike, and all the cousins lived across the street from us, we have so much fun. The night I went into labor with Jimmy Aunt Joan showed me a trick in breathing, the nurses said she was worth her weight in gold that night. It was an honor to know you. Love, Donna & Family.

 Joan and Mike were our best  friends since 1953, we have the greatest memories of our friendship, spent manyyyyy days around the kitchen table together drinking pots of coffee solving the worlds problems, Ray lost his golfing buddy when Mike passed,I always looked at her as my sister, always had time for each other, find a friend like Joann and hang on to her,,,Joann you will always be in my heart and mind :) Now your dancing with Mike and the Lord, and our Dorothy, We Love You, and will miss you,, Raymond, Virginia, oxoxox
