JOAN E. PORTER (nee Kokosinski) age 85. Beloved mother of Gina Ortiz (Rocco), Tina Sesek (George), Elaine McNamara (deceased), John C. Porter, Jr. (deceased) and Doug Elfers (deceased) (Kim). Cherished grandmother of Joseph Paoletto, Jr, (Sheri)  Anthony Paoletto (Khadija), Tonya Sesek (Justin), Jeffrey Sesek, Malinda Moss (Martin), Michael Wengstrom, Amanda Porter, Christopher Porter and Ashleigh Elfers. Great grandmother of Vincent Paoletto, Maxamus Paoletto, Hayden Paoletto, Isaiah Paoletto, Bryson Paoletto, Skylar Paoletto, Benjamin Dewalt, Breanna Dewalt, Justin Dewalt, Martin Moss Jr., Angelica Ivey, (Caleb)  Elias Ivey, Lilly Mclntryre, Grayson Wengstrom, Marley Wengstrom, Layla Sprungle, Arielle Hammond, Liam Porter and Autumn Porter . Dear sister of the late Stephen Kokosinski and cousin of Patricia Gash.

Above all things Joan loved Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. Her family and friends were the next of her loves in life and she will be dearly missed by all of these wonderful people in her life. She had many interests, her love for animals and nature, always rescuing stray animals. She volunteered at the Cleveland Zoo and was known for her “Face Painting” art on children’s special occasions. She also enjoyed crocheting, coloring, and watercolor. She would find a quiet place to become one with nature in the valley by the lake and do her sketching.

She worked for the State Parole Board for 31 years where she retired to enjoy her life with her family.

Joan’s services will be held at her favorite place, Grace Church, 7393 Pearl Road, Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130 on Friday July 7, 2023 at 7:30 PM. The family will receive friends at Grace Church from 3:30 – 7:30 PM. Arrangements entrusted to the A. Ripepi and Sons Funeral Home.
