John this is to you my loving brother-in-law I miss you so much I just hope that you're looking down on the fireworks today but this was your favorite day happy 4th of July John I will celebrate it in your memory

I wanted to say Thank you for all the Love and Support given to Johnny and our family during this difficult time of losing such a special man, Our Brother, Son, Father, Cousin and Friend to many Good-Hearted People. 
To our Family members who took the time to organize in ordering food and shop for the food and set up for all of us to gather and eat after the service Sharing stories and Celebrating Johnnys life, THANK YOU!  
For those Beautiful Heart Felt Cousins who came over and helped choosing songs and organizing picture boards and to that little darling cousin who sat and helped me on the computer downloading, THANK YOU!
 For those who sat and filled in the gaps when we were ill to sit in with Johnny making sure he had someone there when he was awake THANK YOU! You know who you are. 
I am personally overwhelmed and humbled to what God did to all of our hearts to make this Celebration of Life happen for Johnny. All your donations given were such a blessing. THANK YOU!

Johnny Loved you and your visits with him as you comforted him. He was so happy every time you showed up.

Johnny, I have every memory in my head and heart of you. We went through so much together, all of us. We always looked out for one another and always forgave one another quickly. Never to lay our heads down with any hard feelings or regrets. 
You were not only the sweetest, cutest little boy but grew up to be a sweet loving man filled with compassion for others. You were loved dearly by Family and Friends. You were a good Father, Brother and Friend to all of us. You were also at times a pain in my rear. lol I am sure I too was a pain in your rear at times. lol 
 We always spent Vacations together starting our early childhood years to adulthood at Camp Perry. What fun times we all had with Aunts and Uncles and Cousins included. Lots of laughter, Games and cookouts. Times on the beach and all together at the wall along the beach on the last day a group picture of all who came that year was taken. You loved the 4th of July! And we will Celebrate you this year on that day. I am sure you will be watching. 
 You were my Baby Brother and I Loved you so much and I will carry that love with me until we meet again. I Love You with All My Heart, Gina

Deareast Aunt Joan, Gina, Tina, George, Christopher, Amanda and Liam,  my deepest condolences to you all!!! My heart aches for you.  I will be praying for you as you walk this new journey without Johnny. Thank you so much for including me and allowing me to help out where you needed it. 

There is so much that anyone can say about Johnny. I have to agree with all the messages left here. He was hard working and did everything with passion. He had an infectious laugh. I loved it when he referred to me as "kiddo" even though I'm a year and a half older. When Johnny put his mind to something he stuck with it.  He was admit about how he felt about God and no one was going to change his mind. He was so broken hearted about his brother's death and his sister's passing. He needed time to work through his anger, hurt and loss.  Patience and love and respect for him was all it took for John to be open to the Lord and to see the Light and Love God had to offer to him.   As his friend Greg said to me yesterday we had to be gentle and share the Lord with John at his pace. 

Johnny was an amazing cousin!!! There was a time when my car broke down and I was with my sisters stuck in Lakewood. We called Johnny and he was so gracious and went out of his way and rescue us. 

Johnny touched my heart deeply this year when he turned to me after a very long day out running errands and he told me how much he loved me and hanging out with me. He loved the peace and comfort in sharing the love of Jesus that we talked about. I can't even tell you how deeply those words touched my soul. His words totally took me by surprise! So from that point forward I made it my life's mission to continue to spent as much time with Johnny as I could so we could share in this new found relationship with Jesus and His Word together. 

As I shared in yesterday's service Johnny repeatedly told us "I'm scared. I'm scared" The only thought that came to my mind was Jesus could be the only one who could comfort Johnny the way he needed. I told Johnny to change his wording to "Jesus is my strength" and Johnny started to say that every time he felt scared and he eventually changed the words to "Jesus is my friend". Oh how those words melted my heart because of the sweetness of them. He felt so much peace like never before in that moment.  Shortly there after Johnny hollered out "Freedom ".  We had a good laugh.  The freedom sign was made in honor of his words and how he knew then and now that he was/is free of fear and  now from the pains of this world.  

God bless you my sweet cousin, friend and Brother-in-Christ. I look forward to the day we see one another again. 

I love you dearly and thank you for allowing me to walk on this journey called life with you.

Im gonna miss your laughter, your constant rely Right! Our Camp Perry vacations! You and Gina would bring up SO MUCH FOOD to feed an army and you so generously did, the Porter, McCoy, Helmer, Davis and Kremperger clans! 
Always a giving man; when Darcy, Shirley and I were stranded in Lakewood from Christmas shopping you dropped everything to take us home.  
Helping you and loving you was easy! A sweet dear cousin, like a brother, you will be dearly missed!
Hey Johnny, I love you ï¸!!

There are so many memories I wouldn't even know where to begin but I do have a memory of John my brother Donald Roy and me trying to do Christmas one year when Christopher and Amanda Were little and we're trying to put gifts under the tree and out of the corner of my eye I see something and I turn and it's Christopher standing in the hallway with his bottle hanging out of his mouth and his blanket now remind you he was in a crib at the time so I put them back in the crib in about 20 minutes later here he is again and dog was like how the hell is this kid getting out of his crib well we spied and what Christopher was doing was throwing his pillow over the rails hiking his leg up and stepping onto his dresser and then he was hanging dropping from the dresser to his pillow I remember John laughing so hard and he was buzzed it was the funniest memory I can think of I'll miss John very much we had so many good times as friends as a brother-in-law and as a best friend he will always be in my heart

Amen he sure did put in his heart and soul in everything he did in life  john will be truly missed

John was a good man.  40+ years of friendship. Hard worker, honest as they come and a great father who loved his family deeply. He had this distinctive laugh and smile that was so genuine. He knew  how to light up a room even in uncomfortable situations. I am humbled to have known him most of my life. Truly one of a kind.

There was so many memories I wanted to share about John at the funeral today but just couldn't get up there to do so but one thing for sure John is one person I'll never forget John save me from the streets a few times and I tried to help him when he was sick I'll miss my brother-in-law very much John you keep strong up there in heaven watch over our families and we will see each other again I love you John Porter

As John's neighbor and friend for over 20 years, I want to say that he put all of his heart and soul into raising his kids.  Christopher and Amanda, I am here for you still.   My heart aches but I know that he is finally at peace.

Yea, i remember in the early eighties, john and i worked for his dad at the memorial shop. We had some fun times in those days. Frickin Gina worked there too. Elaine was a knockout sweetheart. And i married Chris! Hahahah It was fun. He will be missed.

Yea, when i was laid off in the early eighties, john and I worked for his dad at the monument shop. Oh yea babe, we had some fun. Gina worked there, and smokin hot Elaine didnt work there. Just had to mention her too. And i married Chris ahahahahahah ahhhh we had lots of fun in those days. John is a good man. He will be missed. I wrote this message before but I dont think it posted.
