I am so very sorry to hear of Mr. Garn's passing.  He always walked the halls of Brooklyn High School with a big smile.  He was such a nice man.   Sending my condolences to the family.  I am very sorry for your loss.  Just know, he was a loved man by all the students that he worked with.  He will be missed by all!

Mr. Garn was such a nice man. He was our friend at Brooklyn High when lots of other teachers/counselers were just doing their job. He actually seemed to enjoy what he was doing, and befriended lots of students. He was a "good guy". My condolences to his family.

We were sorry to hear of Mr. Garn's passing and you have our sympathy.  I came in contact with Mr. Garn in the late 50's in Brooklyn's baseball and basketball programs through graduation in 1968.  He ran great programs that made a lot of kids very happy and was a happy, kind and gentle person in our school that really cared about us. Mr. Garn was my social studies teacher at Brooklyn Junior High School in the late '50s.  I remember him as kind, gracious and very patient with children of a difficult age. He was an excellent teacher and was responsible for my lifelong interest in geography and history.  Always smiling and willing to help, Mr. Garn was special to all of us fortunate enough to be in his class.  My condolences to his family.

  Only got to know Joe in the last few years through your daughter Jeanine, but I felt like I knew him longer then that. What a kind and lovely man he was.He always made me feel at home when I came to visit with Jeanine. We would talk about the deer in the back woods behind the house. And I will never forget the birthday party and all those trips we made to the Olive Garden. He will be in my heart forever.

Dear Aunt Bev and the kids

To my favorite aunt and favorite cousins - there are not words to properly and completely say my feelings to express the loss of uncle Joe.

I have always felt that uncle Joe and aunt Bev were the most wonderful people I could have in my life.
There are memories I will retain forever.

I will always appreciate your kindness and understanding at times of distress in my life.
Uncle Joe had 84 years of selflessly giving of himself. Not only devotion to his family, but service to his country, the school and all those around him simply would have to recognise the character and integrity of a great man.

Uncle Joe is with the Father now. I am positive he is in peace and being among those who had passed before, that were friends and family.

I am grateful for all he did for me and for all those who were fortunate to have known him.

My heart goes out to all of you who called him husband and Dad.

I will miss him.
