JUDITH PARKER

Judith Parker, age 79, of Emmaus Pa. passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2022. She was born in Cleveland on June 9, 1943 and is survived by her sister Betty Korpowski Zak of Strongsville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her Parents Joseph & Marie Korpowski and her daughter Renee Michelle Parker Pyle.

She earned a B.S. in Physics with minors in mathematics and education from Notre Dame College in Cleveland, Ohio, an M.S. in Physics from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and an M.A. and Ed.D. in Adult and Continuing Education from Teachers College/Columbia University in New York.

She was an adjunct professor of physics and astronomy in St. Paul, Minnesota and spent over 20 years with 3M in St. Paul, first working in the research and development area and then designing and delivering training programs for the growing global technical community in Europe and Asia. She was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of Sigma Pi Sigma (Physics Honor Society) and awarded the National Association of Academies of Science Distinguished Service Award, the 3M Technical Circle of Excellence Award, and the American Association of Physics Teachers Innovative Teaching Award.

For the past 20+ years she continued her love of teaching after moving to Emmaus, Pa and was an adjunct lecturer in physics at Muhlenberg college in Allentown PA. and Adjunct assistant professor of adult learning & leadership at Columbia University, NY. Judy served as a lector at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Bally, PA.  and was active in the community.

She has served as president of the National Association of Academies of Science and as a member of the American Association for the Advancement's national Committee on the Public Understanding of Science.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday Oct 11th at 11:30 A.M. in the St. Benedict Mausoleum of Holy Cross Cemetery 14609 Brookpark Rd, Brook Park, OH 44142. A lunch will follow. Private Burial at the grave site to take place later.
