She met her late Husband Arthur in Naples Italy, while he was stationed for work at the naval base in Naples. Quickly he fell in love with her in which they got married and started a family. They eventually relocated to the United States, permanently settling in Brookpark Ohio. Julia had to learn English on her own and adapt to the American lifestyle, her Italian influence inspired many. Julia is known for her talent in the kitchen and one of her favorite things to do was cook for everyone and share laughs and memories across the table. She loves to crochet blankets and keepsakes for her friends and grandchildren, maintain a yard full of colorful flowers and plants every year, listen to music and dance, and her favorite of all, storytelling with friends and family.
