KENNETH S. BARON, age 82. Beloved husband of the late Anne; devoted father of Patrick (Julie), Timothy, and Michael (Chris); cherished grandfather of Akosua, Samantha, Benjamin, and Madeline; dear brother of James, and the late Louise, John, and Thomas.
Born and raised in Ashtabula, Ken is a friend to many from childhood, John Carroll University, the Catholic Alumni Club, Republic/LTV Steel, and all his stops along the way. Ken is known for a dry sense of humor and a love of laughter. He was a golfer with a distinct attire who loved playing with family and friends, including family weeks in Ashtabula, vacations to South Carolina, and many company outings. Ken was a fan of poker and many other card games, and taught his sons several including pinochle - the family favorite. He enjoyed a good weekend project on the house or a labor in the yard with an occasional cigar. A St. Raphael parishioner for many years Ken was dedicated to others, giving charitably to many causes and freely helping loved ones in need, including many to trips to Cleveland’s east side to help his aging aunts. For almost a half-century Ken organized and ran the grill for the annual family reunion, a summer highlight for many. And despite having such a large network of friends and family, Ken kept note of important dates in their lives and made sure to send birthday and anniversary wishes to a great many for as long as he could. Ken is reunited with his wife Anne after 18 years apart, and many loved ones who have gone before him. His life was about family, friends, and fun, and he excelled at it.
