Lana was born April 7, 1967 at Lodi Hospital in Medina, Ohio to Gloria Whetstone and Paul Lowery. She attended Medina City Schools and later graduated from Ravenna High School in 1985. She attended Kent State University after high school.
Lana is survived by her mother, Gloria Whetstone and her step- father Ron Whetstone. She is survived by her husband Brian and her children Hailey Thiedemann, Alex Thiedemann, step-son Phillip McHolland, and daughter Reilly McHolland. She is also survived by siblings Lori Sickle (Barry), Lisa Osborne (Carl), Lonnie Lowery (Kelly), and Lance Lowery (Joy). She also leaves behind loving nieces and nephews: Andrew Sickle (godson), Heath Urbanowitz, Logan Lowery, Camryn Lowery and Case Lowery.
Lana was especially proud of her Irish heritage. She embraced her lineage following the traditions of those before her. She created and honored family traditions especially those for the holidays. She made sure that every holiday and special occasion was memorable through her creativity and love of family. She was a devoted mother and aunt to her younger generation. Lana attended their athletic events, concerts, and school functions without fail. She made a career of working as an educational assistant in special needs classrooms for various school districts in the area. She was devoted to her job and the special needs students she served. She advocated for those students through her love and kindness in meeting their every need. She was proud of her chosen career and dedicated to her colleagues and students. Lana was well known for her excellent culinary skills in cooking and baking. Her hobbies included crafting, sewing, and gardening. She created beautiful pieces of original works to be passed down to her children. She enjoyed beach vacations with family favoring the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Her dedication to family and friends made her inspiration to us all. Her favorite season was fall where she embraced the color of the trees, the delicious cuisine, and autumn activities. She is renown for her spectacular Halloween celebrations. Lana was a breast
cancer survivor. She bravely faced chemo and radiation treatments befriending fellow patients along their treatment journey. Lana’s spirit will live on through the lives of her children and all of us whom she inspired with her warm smile and loving heart.
Lana will be memorialized in a celebration of life on Saturday, January 15th from 1 to 3 pm at Craciun Funeral Home in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. Charitable donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in her name.
