LAWRENCE J. PARR

LAWRENCE JAMES PARR age 80. Retired manager for the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company died at the Emeritus-Brookside Estates Assisted Living Community in Middleburg Heights on March 16, 2013. He retired from Ohio Bell on December 31, 1991 after more than 36 years of service. He had perfect attendance for all those years. He began an an installer in East Cleveland ad the Elderwood garage and worked his way to Manager in Support Services and the Stationary Centers. Hew was responsible for forms management in the State of Ohio. He was a long time member of the AT&T Telephone Pioneers. He served a Treasurer of the Brecksville Council and the Life Member Council for 27 years. He also served as Treasurer of the Chapter for the State of Ohio for 17 years. Rather than take up a hobby, he considered his volunteer work as Treasurer and Fund Raiser for the Pioneers a very fulfilling hobby. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio adn graduated from Euclid High School in 1950. He joined the Navy after graduating and served during the Korean Conflict. He attended 8 years of night school and graduated from Fenn College in 1962. He is the beloved husband of Judith (nee Vanderwerf). Loving father of Kathleen Tavernelli (Mark), Lawrence J., William T., Thomas P. (Patricia), Maureen, Timothy (Lisa), Michael and Amanda Sylvain (Matthew). Cherished grandfather of Larry, Matt (Nicole) and Joann Tavernelli, Rory (Ashley), Daniel, Tom, Shannon, Caitlin, Gabbie, Erin, Clinton and Joseph Parr and Clara Sylvain. Dear brother of Connie Jameson (Richard), Bill Nourse (Patricia), Marge Nourse and the late Michael and Patricia Nourse. U. S. Navy Korean War Veteran. Funeral services at the funeral home, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Interment Lake View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions suggested to the Carter J. Nedley Foundation, P.O.
