MACKENZIE L. ROBINSON age 25. Beloved daughter of Mark and Diane (nee Pavoni) Robinson. Loving sister of Luke and Christian Robinson. Dearest granddaughter of Rosemary Pavoni (late Robert) and the late Peter Robinson (Jean). Dear niece of Carole Romano (John) and Patrick Pavoni (Heidi). Special cousin of Brynne Hutton (Robb), Lauren Whitman (Chad) and Nicholas Pavoni. Devoted companion to her late K-9 Rudy "The World's Greatest Sheltie".
Mackenzie was born on March 22, 1996 in Lancaster, PA. She entered the world much as she left it: fighting. From the beginning, Mackenzie displayed her signature fighting spirit. She was able to wake Mark and Diane at any hour of the night. Pushing them to the limit right before wooing them with springy blonde locks of hair, infectious laughter, a broad, toothless smile and crystal blue eyes that were windows to the soul.
As she grew into a woman, Mackenzie's soul and spirit never changed. She was driven to succeed in everything she did. The very fighting nature that has driven her parents insane as a toddler, allowed her to excel as a sprinter on the track team, an honor roll student in the classroom and a friend to all she crossed paths with. Most importantly, she excelled as a sister and a daughter. Mackenzie's insatiable drive was always evident, but those close to her felt her compassion above all else.
After entering the University of Cincinnati as a Biology major, Mackenzie realized she needed to alter course. She knew she had a love for science, but she also had an intrinsic desire to help people. After much hard work, dedication and perseverance, Mackenzie was accepted into the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing -- a place that she was forever proud to have attended. It was UC where she met the best friends of her life and discovered her passion. With all her new-found knowledge, Mackenzie was notorious for "nursing" her family. No Robinson ever claim they lacked for care in their home. Mackenzie's passion for care and desire to help those in need could never be overstated. Much like high school, she leaned on her drive to propel her toward success.
Unfortunately, in the first semester of her senior year, Mackenzie was diagnosed brain cancer. In a time when most would quite, Mackenzie relied on the fighting spirit she'd had since birth to continue. Mackenzie graduated from the prestigious UC College of Nursing on time and with honors. Meanwhile, she had undergone brain surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and numerous other treatments that would've sidelined a normal person. But Mackenzie was never normal. After graduating, she accomplished her dream of becoming a nurse. She worked in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center as a NICU nurse, even being awarded the Pride Award for integrity and outstanding patient care. In a life filled with the stress of brain cancer and the resultant treatments, Mackenzie worked in the high pressure of the NICU, saving premature babies with the confidence of their mothers. She was anything but common.
Her family mourns the loss of their girl. Her curly hair, warm laughter, beaming smile and soulful eyes will always be missed, but the worst loss of all is the impact she would have made to the world. Her beauty and spirit matched only by her drive and charisma. The world will forever be lesser without her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions requested to the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday October 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield, Ohio. The family will receive friends Tuesday 3 - 8 PM at THE A.
