OBITUARY

Margaret DeLuca

December 21, 1938November 17, 2020

Margaret (Marge Jandrey) DeLuca (81), of Parma Heights, OH, passed away on Tuesday, November 17 2020, with her family by her side.

She was born to the late George & Gertrude Jandrey, December 21, 1938 in Cleveland, OH. She often recounted two things from her childhood: 1. Not knowing English when she arrived to kindergarten (“it was so confusing, I didn’t know what they were saying!”) 2. Visiting her father’s pastry shop in downtown Cleveland when she visited the city with her mother. Marge graduated from John Adams High School in 1957 then proceeded to Fenn College.

Married in 1958 to Ralph A. DeLuca, they had 4 children, 3 girls and a boy. Marge is survived by her former Husband Ralph, Children Beverly (DeLuca) Roeble, Diane DeLuca, and Steven DeLuca, Daughter-In-Law Tracy, Grandchildren Greg & Ron Roeble, Krystal, Lauryn & Olivya DeLuca, brother Richard Jandrey, and multiple nephews, nieces, and great nephews & nieces. Marge was predeceased by her daughter Gayle in 2008, and Son-In-Law Jim Roeble in 2009.

She made a home for herself and family in Parma, Ohio. She was a proud member of The Parma Mother Singers & church choir, a 25+ year volunteer at Parma Hospital, and an avid traveler. Every vacation she went on resulted in a huge photo album.

Marge enjoyed the simple things in life. Most of her evenings were spent either cross stitching or sewing with a mystery/crime TV show (NCIS) in the background or reading one of her books from her overflowing bookshelf. If she read an article that reminded her of you, she would cut it out and hand it to you when she saw you next. Her eyes would become childlike and full of excitement when you presented her with her favorite treat, chocolate. Funny enough, one day she sent her granddaughter to the store to buy her 2 cartons of 2 different types of chocolate ice cream.

In life, Marge would be known for many things. Being the Office Manager at EZ Tax Inc (even though her son had to reteach her the job every year), Christmas stockings with apples and oranges in them, her super chocolatey pie (she cracked a mischievous smile when she told us the “secret” ingredient, Kahlua!), and never putting her seat belt on in the car.

A socially distanced Viewing Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 10 am at Bethany Lutheran Church (6041 Ridge Road, Parma, OH 44129). After viewing, guests staying for the funeral are asked to sit in pews amongst similar household members, or if not staying for the funeral, may pay your respects, then leave through the marked exit.

Socially distanced Funeral Services will be held at the church immediately following the Viewing Ceremony, at 11 am.

The burial will be held at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery (4700 Broadview Road, Cleveland, OH 44109), immediately following the Funeral Services. Masks must be worn during all aspects!

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

Mrs. DeLuca was a very sweet lady with a warm smile, that I will remember from my years knowing her through her son, Steve, and my father's participation with her in the Parma Singers.
