Michael Richard Holet passed away peacefully, at the age of 88, on Friday, September 19, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born, on March 17, 1937, and raised in the rolling hills of Monessen, PA. He grew up in his family’s baking business, which helped shape his ability to create fantastic desserts.
A retired steelworker and millwright, Mike enjoyed tinkering and fixing at his workbench, in the garage. If something involved his grinder, chainsaw, or rototiller, Mike was ready for the task.
An avid storyteller, Mike would chat it up with anyone. To any who would listen, Mike would recite tales of adventure and fun with a sparkle in his eye and a chuckle. If a DJ was present, Mike always requested “Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu” to swing his hips and elbows in his own signature way.
He loved flea markets, hunting, hats, vintage cars, Elvis Presley music, and his family.
Preceded in death by his parents John and Mary and brother Ron, Mike is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy; their children, John (Carrie), Laurie and Craig (Danielle); grandchildren Mason, Morgan, Carson, Connor and Graham; and siblings Lorraine Warbuttons and Alan Holet.
The service will be held at Craciun Funeral Home, 14925 Bagley Rd, Middleburg Heights, OH 44130 on Monday, September 29, 2025
Friends may call beginning at 12 pm with service at 1:00 until 2pm.
